Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be transferred to the Mount Nelson. Check in and balance of the day at leisure. Chat to your travel planner to customize your stay in Cape Town and add private guided day tours to visit the Mother City and its surrounding regions. You might be interested in the lush green Cape Winelands with a chocolate, cheese, olive oil tour; or spend the day visiting the Cape Peninsula with its penguin colony and local seals; or immerse yourself with a cultural visit to Bo-Kaap ... the choice is yours. .

Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve

Staying at TSWALU The Motse

Breakfast and check out. Meet our driver at reception for the transfer to the airport. Scheduled charter flight to Tswalu is included. Arrive Tswalu and transfer to the lodge where you check in and relax before the first game drive. Back at the lodge on time for dinner and night.

From the landmark Korannaberg mountains to the southern Kalahari’s typical arid savannah and iconic ochre dunes rippling away to the horizon, days on safari are unscripted and unhurried. Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve

Staying at TSWALU The Motse

A private vehicle safari allows for unlimited time at sightings, which may include some of the elusive species that find sanctuary here, such as aardvark, pangolin, bat-eared fox, brown hyena, and aardwolf. Other iconic Kalahari species include the black-maned Kalahari lion, the desert black rhino, wild dog, oryx and cheetah.

At any time of the year, there are special sightings and transformations to the landscape influenced by seasonal changes and the absence or abundance of water. Spending time at one of the habituated meerkat colonies is often a highlight of a Tswalu safari.

Day 8-10

Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve

Staying at Tswalu Loapi

After breakfast, you will depart for another area of the reserve and spend the next 3 nights at Loapi Camp. 

In Setswana, Loapi means ‘the space below the clouds’, aptly reflected in the camps environmentally sensitive, modular design, combining canvas, glass and steel. Uncluttered, sculptural interiors, enriched by nature’s colours, forms and shapes, optimise the sense of space and evoke the carefree, nomadic spirit of camping. Backed by the foothills of the Korannaberg mountains, Loapi is set to become Africa’s top luxury tented safari camp.  

Continue on your rewarding game viewing experience, on foot, with your private vehicle or include a day on horseback. Diverse habitats offer varied game viewing, including over 80 species of mammals such as black-maned Kalahari lion, desert black rhino, cheetah, giraffe, greater kudu, eland and oryx. Tswalu is also one of the best places in Africa to see five shy, nocturnal species that often prove elusive elsewhere, namely the brown hyena, aardwolf, aardvark, bat-eared fox and ground pangolin.

End Of Itinerary

Your last morning in the Kalahari. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and breathe in the fresh air before the transfer to the airstrip. 

Scheduled charter flight is included to Johannesburg where the safari ends. You can fly back home, or extend your trip, chat to us for diverse options.
