Starting at the southern-most tip of Africa and ending in the world's largest inland delta, this South Africa and Botswana safari gives travellers an excellent opportunity to experience the best that Southern Africa has to offer. 

Spend time in the picturesque city of Cape Town, exploring its Blue Flag beaches and lush green winelands before heading to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in Mpumalanga. Bordering the world famous Kruger National Park, this private concession offers a luxury safari experience for seasoned safari-goers or first-time adventurers. Everything comes to a head in Botswana's Okavango Delta, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the Delta’s labyrinth of winding waterways, reed islands, fields of floating lily pads and pods of hippos.

1 to 4

Cape Town

Today your South African adventure starts. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Spend a leisurely afternoon at the prestigious Victoria & Alfred Hotel and explore the vibrant V&A Waterfront, right next to your hotel. This will be your home for the next four nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

During your stay in Cape Town, you'll explore the entire Cape Peninsula and discover the wonders of Cape Town. From pristine beaches lined with palms, to the spectacular sight of Cape Point where two oceans meet, there is no want of things to do in this cosmopolitan city.

Be sure not to miss a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, where indigenous fynbos reigns; flora found nowhere else in the country and in the world. You''ll also have a chance to explore the beautiful Cape Winelands, which includes South Africa's oldest towns of Stellenbosch, charming Franschhoek, historic Paarl and more than 400 wine farms that produce globally award-winning wines.

5 to 6

Lion Sands Game Reserve

After breakfast, you'll bid Cape Town farewell as you are transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to Skukuza airport in Mpumalanga.  On arrival at Skukuza Airport you will be met and transferred through to the impressive Sabi Sand River Lodge.

Sabi Sand River Lodge offers you one of the warmest welcomes you could hope to encounter on your travels. You'll be met by staff that are like family so be prepared to feel relaxed and welcome from the very beginning of your safari adventure. The River Lodge is one of the original lodges in this game reserve and the heart and soul of Sabi lives on here. Enjoy your pick of one of twenty thatched, ensuite rooms, each with its own private viewing deck overlooking the Sabie river. Quiet luxury is the order of the day at Sabi Sands River Lodge. 

The quiet flow of the river outside your bedroom is a call to enter the bush. Enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon, followed by dinner at the lodge.

Johannesburg

After breakfast and your last morning game drive at Sabi River Lodge, look forward to a transfer back to Skukuza airport for your domestic flight to Johannesburg. On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Davinci Hotel and Suites is located in the vibrant Nelson Mandela Square, in the heart of the affluent Sandton area of this "City of Gold". Expect designer rooms, opulent restaurant and bar, as well as personalised service. Sip an afternoon cocktail during your first leisurely afternoon here, or go on a shopping spree where you'll find the latest and greatest fashion brands. Or enjoy a fitness session at the hotel's fully equipped in-house gym. 

Enjoy your first evening in Johannesburg, a bustling hub of city lights, sights and sounds.

8 to 10

Okavango Delta

After breakfast, you will be transferred to O.R. Tambo International Airport for a short flight to the gateway town of Maun. You'll be met and escorted to a schedule charter flight to the beautiful Kanana Camp on the Xudum River.  

Located in the southwest of the Okavango Delta, Kanana Camp is nestled amidst a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn trees. Don't be alarmed by the myriad of birds, plants and animals. The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta.

You will have your first safari this afternoon followed by dinner at the lodge. This will be your home for the next three nights including all meals and game activities such as cruising the waterways of the delta via a tranquil mokoro ride, fishing for bream or tigerfish before setting off on a guided adventure to spot a variety of the area’s wildlife and bird life.

Departure

What a pity to say goodbye, but an early morning game drive and delicious breakfast will help to seal the memories you have made on this trip.
