Discover Africa planned a fabulous trip for us! The travel planner came up with an itinerary that included everything we wanted; the trip was extremely well organized; the accommodations were lovely; and the activities were fun and interesting. We especially loved the Queen Victoria Hotel in Cape Town near the V&A waterfront and Beck’s Lodge in South Africa. The management at Beck’s was so friendly and helpful, our safari guide and tracker were extremely knowledgeable and personable, and the chefs were outstanding. I highly recommend Discover Africa!

The trip was nothing short of amazing, one of the best safari experiences we have ever enjoyed.
We booked our safari adventures in Kenya and Tanzania with Susan at Discover Africa. The trip was nothing short of amazing, one of the best safari experiences we have ever enjoyed. Susan was thoughtful and patient throughout the planning process and really took time to understand what we wanted in a safari. Her recommendations were perfectly on point for us and our travel needs. All logistical elements were smooth, and the services and amenities at both lodges that Susan recommended were exceptional. Our stay at Nimali Mara was particularly special with guide, Benson, offering us not only great sightings, but amazing animal interactions - from curious lion cubs playing (some still in the den) to lions mating to a lion challenging hyenas to access a watering hole! Our big cat experiences were truly top notch. Thank you Susan for arranging such a special and memorable vacation for us; we will surely be in touch to plan our next African adventure.

Chrizaan was so easy to contact and made this truly the trip of a lifetime for me!
I started planning my Africa safari/vacation about two years ago with the help of Diane, and was transitioned to Chrizaan about halfway through my timeline. There was zero issues with changing my guide, and both ladies were SUPER lovely to work with. I was able to see and do everything I dreamed of between Zimbabwe and South Africa, and wouldn't have been able to do this without the team at Discover Africa. I even added an extra person a few months after booking, and was able to seamlessly integrate her into my travels. We were able to see the Big 5, almost all of the Beautiful 5 (except a cheetah), and the Ugly 5! In addition to Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, Cape Town, Johannesburg, the wine lands of Cape Town, many white rhinos, zebra, monkeys, wild dogs, the list goes ON. The different lodges were amazing, super well kept, and the staff, guides, and trackers were exceptional. This trip was unlike anything I've ever experienced, and having a dedicated guide who understood everything I wanted to do made the whole journey as easy as can be. Chrizaan was so easy to contact and made this truly the trip of a lifetime for me!

We would definitely book with Susan and Discover Africa again.
We have just returned from a trip to 3 different safari camps in Botswana, a short trip to Victoria Falls and a gorilla trek in Rwanda that was booked with Susan from Discover Africa. We couldn't be happier with the direction and support she gave us to truly make it a trip of a lifetime. Although the three camps she booked for us were geographically quite close, they were very different in the wildlife viewing experiences, with different focuses for each (we were at camp Okavango, Xakanaxa camp and Chobe Game Lodge). We saw all the animals and birds we dreamed of seeing in Africa with the exception of the rhino as conservation efforts are currently underway and they are located only in central Botswana at this time. The accommodation was incredible at all of them, the food delicious and the staff exceptional. Such lovely, welcoming people. Rwanda was an absolute favorite and not just for the amazing gorillas. The country is lush and beautiful, the people warm and welcoming and the Bishops house hotel was incredible. Susan coordinated all of our bookings and when one of the airlines cancelled our flight within hours of our flying, she was completely on it and got us re-booked and on our way, even arriving an hour earlier than the previously scheduled flight. We would definitely book with Susan and Discover Africa again.

Susan you are amazing you gave us an experience that only dreams are made of.
Susan and the team from Discover Africa you have excelled yourself through the initial contact to the very end of our journey. We were dazzled with the views of Cape Town. Victoria Falls and of course the game parks. The animals did not disappoint the spectacular service of all the staff will be etched in our memories forever. The animals were the stars of the show but I have to mention the service,food and accomodation was out of this world. I took this tour with my 23 year old son and i was so impressed with all that this beautiful country had to offer. Susan, from the Wales family you are one amazing lady. Thank you again. Exceeded Expectations!
Africa was on my travel "wishlist" but I never thought I would actually get there That all changed when our son was home for a visit over Christmas. He announced that he and a friend were going to Africa. They had selected DISCOVER AFRICA to plan their trip. He shared all the details with us and we decided it was an adventure we had to experience as well. Our son connected us with Vihann Van Wyk at Discover Africa, the same agent he was using. Vihann was a pleasure to work with. He coordinated our trip with our son's and tweaked the details as requested. Communication was a breeze through both email and WhatsApp. Vihann made suggestions as well as accepted specific requests from us to build a custom itinerary. No detail was overlooked. Some accommodations were adjusted to keep us within budget without sacrificing our experience. All drivers, tour guides, experiences & lodging did not disappoint. All internal flights were on Airlink .... better than some regional airlines in the USA. The weather was perfect too! [global_dynamic_group section_type="gallery collage" id="gallery 1"] Our itinerary included: *CAPE TOWN - Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel....very nice property with an excellent breakfast and beautiful outdoor dining. Must sees were the full day Cape Tour, Wine Tour to Stellenbosch, Table Mountain and High Tea at the Cape Grace Hotel. *KRUGER NTL PARK - Lion Sands Tinga Lodge....a dream experience! Excellent private bungalow, twice daily game drives, delicious food, and a wonderful massage and facial at the spa. The staff was outstanding. *VICTORIA FALLS - Shongwe Lookout Lodge...a modest property that met all our needs and saved us some money. We experienced the Zambezi River sunset cruise, Victoria Falls ( incredible!! ) , lunch at the Lookout Cafe and a visit to the historic Victoria Falls hotel for lunch. *JOHANNESBURG - Marriott African Pride Hotel in Melrose Arch ....an upscale area with lots of shopping and dining. The Soweto Tour was an experience not to be missed. We visited Nelson Mandela's office and home. The Apartheid Museum was sobering and moving. Lastly, every where we went we met the nicest people....friendly and helpful. Excellent adventure! An experience like no other!

*CAPE TOWN – Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel….very nice property with an excellent breakfast and beautiful outdoor dining. Must sees were the full day Cape Tour, Wine Tour to Stellenbosch, Table Mountain and High Tea at the Cape Grace Hotel.
*VICTORIA FALLS – Shongwe Lookout Lodge…a modest property that met all our needs and saved us some money. We experienced the Zambezi River sunset cruise, Victoria Falls ( incredible!! ) , lunch at the Lookout Cafe and a visit to the historic Victoria Falls hotel for lunch.
*JOHANNESBURG – Marriott African Pride Hotel in Melrose Arch ….an upscale area with lots of shopping and dining. The Soweto Tour was an experience not to be missed. We visited Nelson Mandela’s office and home. The Apartheid Museum was sobering and moving.
Lastly, every where we went we met the nicest people….friendly and helpful.

Well done Discover Africa. One off the bucket list!
This trip was all about making memories, and it did just that. Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Mala Mala Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls, and finally Zanzibar. Our boutique hotels along the way were nothing less than stunning, as was Lanzarac Manor in Stellenbosch. The lasting memory is that of Mala Mala. If I could score it higher than 100%, then I would. So well organised. Brilliant guide - Geena. The big five, not once but on several occasions. Excellent accommodation and first-rate staff. The whole trip went like a dream thanks to Vihann Van Wyk who checked in with us several times and even checked us in for all of our flights. I'd strongly recommend Discover Africa Safaris to anyone considering a trip to Africa and especially a safari. Well done Discover Africa. One off the bucket list!

I highly recommend Susan at Discover Africa for your safari dreams!
We travel a lot. I don’t normally write reviews and I typically plan and book everything myself because I am very exacting when it comes to the itinerary, logistics, accommodations, activities, etc. – everything must be perfect. When planning this trip, I vetted and researched at least 10 top-rated companies (including phone interviews) and reviewed a dozen itineraries before beginning to work with Discover Africa and Susan Veldman. We were a group of 2 couples traveling together on a complex itinerary with high expectations, a restricted amount of time, and a budget range. Susan was patient, professional, friendly, and expertly knowledgeable. She worked with all of our parameters, spent hours on Zoom calls with me, and put together a lifetime experience trip to Tanzania and several other locations that was seamless and exceptional. In addition, Susan checked in with me regularly during our trip to make sure that everything was going well. We had it all – incredible private guides, perfectly located accommodations, a great combination of luxury and simplicity to meet our desired experience at each location, and enriching experiences. While on the trip, I was also pleased to hear from independent local operators that Discover Africa is highly regarded in the industry as an ethical company that is one of the best. Save time and effort – I have done all of the work for you! (lol) – I highly recommend Susan at Discover Africa for your safari dreams!

Megan with Discover Africa did an excellent job planning our trip. We are from the US and it was so great to get her help. It made our trip so much easier. We flew into Cape Town and were there a few days. Then we were flown to Kruger National Park. Our stay was at Jock Safari Lodge. This place was fabulous. It is completely what you would want on a safari. We were taken on 2 drives per day and we found all of the Big 5 and much more! Jacob was so informative. He knew so much detail about each animal and the vegetation. After 3 nights it was time to fly to Victoria Falls. Megan booked Insika Lodge. This place is gorgeous. We then flew back to Cape. Stayed a few more days then flew home. Getting to and from Africa was separate from the rest of our trip. It was so well planned and our homes away from home were exactly what we would pick out ourselves. I cannot say enough good things!

We got recommendations from friends and were really very satisfied with the service provided!
We travelled this summer with Discover Africa Safaris for the first time to Botswana, after spending 2 summers in Kenya and Tanzania. We got recommendations for this travel agency from friends and were really very satisfied with the service provided! We were travelling with 2 small children and were extra cautious, but Dev planned everything perfectly. The lodge he suggested was out of this world! During our stay he was always available (although we didn't encounter not a single problem). This was our most beautiful journey to the African continent and we would really recommend Discover Africa.

Every detail was meticulously planned, and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing.
