Staying at Feline Fields Vintage Camp

On arrival at Maun airport, you will be met by the lodge's representative to assist you in boarding the scheduled flight to Khwai airstrip.  On arrival, you are met by your safari guide and transferred to the tented camp. You can now breathe in the fresh air and relax. Chat to the guide and the camp manager to organize your day's scheduled game viewing activity as per your preferences

Spacious and romantic, Feline Fields Vintage Camp's eight bell tents take "glamping" to new levels. All have luxurious king or twin beds, with fluffy down duvets and feather pillows and plush mattresses. Add in rugs, butler trays, Victoriana-style pot plants and swish cane furniture and you have all the modern comforts with oodles of vintage style. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom with a basin, flushing toilet and large bucket shower which is filled with warm water when you need it.

Enjoy two days filled with wonderful game viewing. This area is renowned for its high concentrations of predators like lion and leopard, huge herds of elephant and buffalo.

The wildlife sightings in the Khwai area are truly extraordinary and the focus of your stay. While in camp, you'll have the opportunity to see some of the most prolific wildlife in Africa, including huge herds of elephant and buffalo, predators like lion and leopard, and plentiful general plains game, as well as hundreds of bird species.

Overlooking the Khwai River, Feline Fields Vintage Camp's lounge and dining tents are the perfect place to kick back and relax during the heat of the day and enjoy wonderfully flavorful meals while sharing stories of the day's adventures.

Kalahari Botswana

Staying at Feline Fields Lodge

Today you pack your bags and say your good-byes to the Khwai region, as you will board a helicopter for a scenic helicopter transfer flying over the Okavango plains, to reach a very remote area within the Kalahari region.

The Kalahari is a desert like no other, an ancient land of semi-arid savannah that seems to stretch forever, filled with a rich diversity of life. This is the ancestral homeland of Africa's First People - the San Bushmen - whose fascinating culture permeates everything in this incredible destination.

Arrive at the lodge where you are met by the safari guide and lodge manager who will take you through the options of activities during your stay.

Feline Fields Lodge sits in the northern reaches of the Kalahari, to the west of the Okavango Delta, not far from the border with neighbouring Namibia. Completely off-grid, using state-of-the-art solar technology, it's a retreat in every sense of the word, offering a range of activities from desert biking, game drives and horse riding to guided walks, tennis and even golf practice!

You will get to enjoy fireside storytelling and walks in the Kalahari with the Bushmen, as well as visits to local villages and the chance to witness genuine mystical and spiritual trance dances.

There are a range of activities on offer, you can also choose to spend the day at the lodge, relax at the pool, book a spa treatment and immerse yourself fully in nature. From meeting the San Bushmen to spending a night under a million stars, Feline Fields Lodge is all about creating magical moments for you and your loved ones.

The game drives in the Kalahari allow you to explore the impressive landscapes and unique environments that make this desert region so special. While not a prime game viewing area, you may nonetheless see elephants and other desert-adapted species like gemsbok, as well as amazing birdlife including ostriches and secretary birds.

Join the San Bushmen for a guided walk through the Kalahari, learning about their traditional way of life and the plants and animals that sustain them. You will find out about the medicinal qualities of the endemic flora and how to find water and store it, keeping it fresh for weeks, as well as how to make fire and find food.

The Kalahari is perfect for horse riding, with its vast, largely flat landscape making it exciting to explore from the saddle. Enjoy guided trails through this unique environment and stop for a bush breakfast or lunch along the way.

You will have your own sand bike for your use during your stay. Feel free to cycle at will in and around the lodge or go out into the Kalahari with one of our guides and explore further afield.

End Of Itinerary

Today marks the end of your safari. After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Maun (takes about 3 hours). You are at leisure at the airport until your flight out, or chat to us to extend with a few more days, Victoria Falls can be a wonderful extension to this safari, for example.
