Xugana Island lagoon is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta. Situated on a wooded island abutting the lagoon, the lodge takes full advantage of this magnificent site. In fact, the lodge was only the second permanent lodge to be constructed in the area.
Xugana Island Lodge is the perfect place to relax, although guests should not miss the opportunity to take part in classic Okavango Delta activities on offer. These include meanders along the waterways in mokoros, game drives for sightings of animals in the Okavango Delta, including the opportunity to spot the rare red lechwe and African wild dog. Boating excursions for water-based game viewing are also a highlight.
Birdwatching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for bream and tigerfish is offered.
