Wildebeest and Zebras Spotted in Seronera Valley

This group of wildebeests, accompanied by many zebras, was spotted grazing in Tanzania’s Seronera Valley. Wildebeests and zebras often travel together during the Great Migration, and the combined herds help both species stay protected from predators. Wildebeests have a strong sense of hearing and smell, while zebras have excellent eyesight, allowing them to act as early warning systems for each other!

Large wildebeest herd sighted in Seronera!

This herd was spotted in the Seronera area of the Serengeti National Park. Wildebeest were sighted in large numbers as they gathered around this safari vehicle. The drivers had to be patient as the wildebeest moved away from this lush grazing spot!

Huge wildebeest herd spotted in between Moru and Seronera Valley!

This herd was sighted near Moru on its way to Seronera Valley in Serengeti National Park. The Seronera River, which runs through Seronera Valley, is crucial for wildebeest herds. It provides necessary water during their migration, which helps sustain them during their long journey.

Wildebeest herd spotted on the move near Nyaruboro Hill!

This herd was sighted near Nyaruboro Hill in central Serengeti. It looks like most of the wildebeest herds are in central Serengeti again and should start to move west. This is a bit late on their usual route as they chased the rains east.

Wildebeest herd spotted moving around the plains near Moru and Simba Kopjes!

This herd was spotted near Moru and Simba Kopjes in the Serengeti National Park on their way to Seronera Valley. May to June is also known as rutting season. Expect to see some fights between competitive males as they vie for attention from female wildebeest!

Wildebeest herd spotted enjoying a mud bath near Simba Kopjes!

This herd was spotted just south of Simba Kopjes in Serengeti National Park. These wildebeest spent some time in this area during their wonderful migration journey, having fun in the wet and filthy mud.

Massive herd spotted grazing near Simba Kopjes!

This herd was spotted near Simba Kopjes at Naabi Hill. This sighting follows the trend of wildebeest herds moving east as they follow the recent heavy rains. These wildebeests looked to be spreading even further east towards Barafu and Namiri Plains Camp. This detour might delay their arrival in Grumeti and the Mara River!
