Arrive at Windhoek airport and connect with the scheduled charter flight to Sossuvlei. Depending on your time of arrival, you might require a pre night in Windhoek, contact us for options.

Arrive at Geluk airstrip, meet with the lodge guide for a short transfer by road, via a meandering drive. Check in at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, you home away from home for the next 4 nights. This time will be unbelievable in terms of experiences and scenery. Chat to the camp manager to set up your days as per your preferences and the daily scheduled activities included with your stay.

Your spacious air conditioned suite offers a secluded, shaded veranda complete with private plunge pool, a living room with a fireplace, a large retractable skylight above the bed, and an en-suite bathroom with a glass-encased rain shower offering 180º desert views.

The split-level guest area is an inspired masterpiece of glass, rock and steel. Large glass panels fold away to reveal unobstructed desert vistas. Inviting amenities include a central-island bar, comfortable sitting room, walk-in cellar, interactive kitchen and rim-flow pool. To ensure you get the most out of your desert adventure, the team will assist you in planning a range of exciting, specialist-guided experiences for the duration of your stay. These small-group activities will be shaped around your personal interests and abilities. Included during your stay:

Sossusvlei Excursion: This half day adventure takes you into the Namib Naukluft National Park. Learn about the ecosystem, Aeolian geological processes, walk to Deadvlei, perhaps climb a sand dune, and for the fit and adventurous, conquer the towering ‘Big Daddy’.

Living Dunes Experience: Set out to the dunes on our reserve, where the story of the deserts ecology is written in the sand. Explore the dunes on foot or by quad bike with a specialist guide who’ll uncover the secrets of the dunes.

Desert People Experience: Step back in time and bring to life the history of the area and its people. Follow your expert guide into the untamed Namib Desert scattered with San rock art. Explore heritage sites and gain insight into the San people.

Desert Rock Experience: Explore the unique landscape on this fascinating geological excursion, in a vehicle and on foot. View the varied topography, exposed due to the upliftment events after the continent of Gondwana split into Africa and South America. Observe young geology ‘in action’ as the dunes shape this awe-inspiring landscape.

Desert Drive: Be mesmerised by the magnificence of the desert on morning or late afternoon desert drives that continue after nightfall. Explore four different habitat types and ecosystems. Learn about fairy circles, how deserts are formed and function, and how animals have adapted to this desolate environment.

Big Dune Walk: Enjoy this exclusive experience at &Beyond Sossusvlei Private Desert Reserve, the only private reserve featuring the iconic star dunes of Namibia. Take the time to appreciate your surrounds and tuck into a delicious picnic breakfast.

Stargazing: Sossusvlei neighbours Africa’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, which has also been awarded Gold Tier status, declaring it an environment with little to no impact from artificial light. Get a closer look at the night sky from our sophisticated observatory with our astronomer and state-of-the-art telescope.

Use of e-bikes, or explore the lodge surrounds on foot, at your leisure.

End Of Itinerary

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the return scheduled charter flight back to Windhoek airport.
