Loita migration is in large numbers in the Naboisho Ol Kinyei Conservancy and the Loita plains
Sala's Camp safari guide, Moses Kaleku spotted a large number of the Loita migration in the Naboisho Ol Kinyei Conservancy and the Loita plains.
The small group is migrating in the eastern part of the game reserve and the southern part is empty – but the common sights are available.

Migrating within the Naiboisho Conservancy
The Loita migration's main herds are migrating within the Naiboisho Conservancy (on the northern border of the Mara National Park).
Meanwhile, the big numbers are about to birth little ones!

Loita herds congregating around Sala’s Camp
Hi HerdTracker,
The last big herds of the migration left the south of the Mara about two weeks ago. Lots of wildebeest and zebra still around Sala’s Camp, particularly large herds of zebra.
The remaining wildebeest are from the Loita herds as there has been very little rain to the north of the main reserve.
Thanks,
Mark

Rain in the Masai Mara slowing down movement back to the Serengeti
Hi HerdTracker
There are still a lot of zebra and wildebeest around our camp. I think they are confused as we have had rain in the Maasai Mara and so many are taking their time getting back in to the Serengetti. They do seem to be heading in that direction ultimately.
Regards,
Lulu

The migration is heading south
Hi HerdTracker
There are some big herds of both zebra and wildebeest – came back up from Tanzania following the rain a couple of weeks ago; there are still some big groups around us near Sala’s – but they are definitely heading south now.
Kind Regards,
Lulu
