Crocodiles attack during a Mara river crossing!
This herd was spotted crossing the Mara river at crossing no 7. Crossing no 7 is dangerous crocodile territory for this herd as one unlucky wildebeest was taken by huge crocodiles! Crocodiles are usually present at crossing no 7 as hippos do not generally venture there.

Biggest megaherd of 2023 crosses the Mara river!
This megaherd was spotted crossing the Mara river between crossing no 7 and 8. Nearly 100 000 wildebeest crossed the Mara river during this astonishing sighting! Recent heavy rains raised the water level of the river making it more difficult for the megaherd to cross.

More Mara river action at crossing no 4!
This massive herd was spotted crossing the Mara river at crossing no 4. More fantastic footage of the crossings at no 4! This is one of the busiest crossing points every year during the Great Migration with countless wildebeest making a desperate leap into the river as seen in this video.

Young Calves Galore!
The wildebeest herds have returned to the Ndutu area from Southern Serengeti, and are currently grazing around the southern plains and the Lake Ndutu area in Ngorongoro Ndutu, bordering the Serengeti National Park. Our expert guides have observed many young calves, indicating the start of the calving season. This is a particularly exciting time as visitors have the opportunity to witness the birth of thousands of wildebeest.

Wildebeest herds spotted in the Southern Serengeti
The wildebeest herds are currently spread around the Southern Serengeti (Kusini, Maswa Game Reserves ) and towards Moru Kopjes.
On the 3rd of Ferbuary 2023 they were seen spanning from Ndutu ( ncaa ) to the Southern Serengeti Plains and across Nabi and all the way from Moru area in SNP to Gol Kopjes.

From December to February it is Calving Season for the Widebeest and the herds would be found in the Southern region of the Serengeti. Here vulnerable calves are hunted by predators and only the fittest will survive. In late February the wildebeest herds will continue on their journey North where they will be facing new challenges.
