Huge wildebeest crossing between point nr. 0-1

This herd was sighted between crossing point nr. 0 and 1 on the Mara River. These wildebeest were crossing in droves at this point on the first day of the September. Wildebeest herd spotted running past safari camps in Nyamalumbwa!

These wildebeest herds were spotted running just past Kaskaz Mara Camp in Nyamalumbwa. These safari-goers were able to see the wildebeest right on their doorsteps! Like a balloon safari, this is one of the best experiences of viewing the Great Wildebeest Migration.

First wildebeest river crossing sighted between nr.7 and Makutano!

This herd was spotted crossing the Mara River between crossing point 7 and Makutano! These safari-goers were treated to the first dramatic river crossing of the season! This is just the first of many daunting challenges the wildebeest have to face for the next few months as they brave these waters.

Wildebeest herd spotted on the move near Nyaruboro Hill!

This herd was sighted near Nyaruboro Hill in central Serengeti. It looks like most of the wildebeest herds are in central Serengeti again and should start to move west. This is a bit late on their usual route as they chased the rains east.

Massive herd crosses the Mara river at no 10

This herd was spotted crossing the Mara river at crossing no 10. Crossing no 10 has gentle slopes but the strong river current did not make this an easy crossing for the wildebeest! A fantastic sighting as river crossings wind down in the northern Serengeti.

Massive herd crosses the Mara river at no 0

This herd was spotted crossing the Mara river at crossing no 0. A relatively orderly crossing for a herd of this size! You can see some wildebeest at the back of the queue looking for another path.
