Tarangire National Park

Staying at Maramboi Tented Lodge

On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, pass customs and meet with your private safari guide. Your safari includes your own private vehicle with an open-top and large side windows, making it ideal for game viewing and ca very comfortable trip.

You depart for the Tarangire, located about 2.5 hours away. Depending on your flight time, you might require a pre-night in Arusha, contact us for options.

Arrive at Maramboi and spend the rest of the day at leisure. The kids can stretch their legs and run around the secure property, and there is a large pool overlooking the plain, where you can refresh and relax. The property is located within their own little private reserve with some plain game such as zebras and ostriches roaming around. Dinner is served under the stars, weather permitting and enjoy your first night in the wild.

The Tarangire is a National park, known for its large herds of elephants and big baobabs. You will experience your first game drive within the park en-route to the camp. Arrive on time for dinner and night.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Enjoy a full day game viewing in the Tarangire including a packed picnic lunch. The Tarangire is a National park, known for its large herds of elephants and big baobabs.

Tarangire’s wildlife can be viewed all year long, although the best time is during the dry months, when zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the rarer Fringe-eared Oryx and eland gather at the last remaining water holes or shelter from the fierce sun under squat baobab trees. Also common in the Tarangire are pythons, which with patience and keen observance may be spotted coiled in tree branches; and there are many birds, mostly in the South of the park.

Return to Maramboi and enjoy dinner and night at camp.

Day 3

Central Serengeti

Staying at Dunia

Early morning wake up call and breakfast. Today is a long drive into the Serengeti, with a couple of hours spent game viewing in the Lake Manyara National park to start the day.

Enjoy the drive through to the Serengeti for a 3-nights stay in the Central area. The Serengeti plain is known for an abundant wildlife all year long. The Park is divided into 4 main areas with the Central Serengeti of the Seronera Valley and Seronera River, being one of the most visited area.

Dunia Camp is situated away from the main routes, with wonderful views over the plain. It is an unfenced camp and animals are known to wander around the area. Your guide and the camp staff will be on-hand at all times to ensure your safety while you move from your tent to the main area. The camp is known for being managed entirely by women, making it extra special for families and children. You can spend some time relaxing, reading a book or doing some coloring on your terrace and listening to the sound of nature.

Central Serengeti

Breakfasts at camp and chat to your guide to plan your days. The game viewing is completely customized to what you wish to experience and your guide will make sure you have the best possible route following the movement of the animals.

The camp is ideally placed to explore three excellent game viewing areas: Seronera, the Moru Kopjes and the southern Serengeti plains. The Seronera River is a gathering place for lots of wildlife, providing ample opportunity for spotting predators in action. The Moru Kopjes are a cluster of old granite boulders, favoured by big cats that like to use them as lookout points. You might even spot the rare black rhino. The southern plains are covered in lush grass between December and May, perfect for calving wildebeest.

Karatu

Staying at Ngorongoro Lodge Meliá Collection

Today you travel through the Serengeti plains on the way back and stop in the Ngorongoro Highlands area. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route and you arrive at camp in the late afternoon. Time to stretch your legs and enjoy a wonderful dinner before an early night.

Your last night is spent at the new and luxurious Melia Hotel, offering some contrast with the tented camps . The 56 room-hotel was designed with the utmost respect for the environment, Ngorongoro Lodge was carefully designed in honor of its unique location. The hotel sits within the protected Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its breathtaking 26,247 square feet natural oasis and iconic 1,969 feet deep crater. More than 25,000 wild animals live along the crater and is known for its various hominid species. The crater, which formed when a volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is home to the endangered Black Rhino, and one of the densest known populations of lions.

Arrive on time for sunset, enjoy dinner at the main restaurant and night.

Day 7

End Of Itinerary

Early wake up call and drive down with a packed breakfast into the Ngorongoro Crater. Once a gigantic volcano, it is the largest intact caldera in the world. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600 m deep Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth.

Enjoy a wonderful game drive on the Crater floor and a picnic lunch and exit the Park to drive back to Arusha and the transfer to Kilimanjaro airport on time for your onward flight. Or contact us to extend your safari with a few days in Zanzibar for example.
