South Africa Big 5 Safari and Victoria Falls Journey

Cayleigh responded almost immediately to every question or concern that I had and resolved the issue quickly.

We are an Australian family of 6 and have just returned from a 2-week safari holiday in South Africa. Discover Africa was excellent. Devryn Panaino was our consultant and he was full of good information and always speedy with a return email.

There was not a single glitch during our holiday. The lodges and camps recommended were exactly what we asked for, with very comfortable accommodation and a couple of dietary requirements catered for every single meal. The guides and trackers were first-rate. They were very friendly and seemed to know everything about the African bush and its wildlife. They would get us into the best possible viewing spot every time and always so close to the animals.

Even the transfers were good – on time with friendly drivers and air-conditioned vans. Each transfer turned into a mini safari.
We hope to return to Africa in the next few years and will absolutely use Dev and the team at Discover Africa.

We contacted Discover Africa directly from Sydney. Feeling that a local travel agent would serve our interests best. And that’s how it turned out. Vihann van Wyck was our contact point, and he did everything we wanted and more. All his suggestions were good, and ALL his travel arrangements worked seamlessly. Hotels welcomed us, and shuttle buses arrived on time in remote locations for our group of 6 family members. We had a week in two excellent game parks. Jock in Kruger and Ulusaba at Sabi Sands. A wonderful experience of safari and luxury.

Then a week in Capetown. A beautiful city with its monumental Table Mountain. And we took severe advantage of the poor Rand with our less than spectacular Australian dollars. The African people are fantastic. We never felt stressed. All in all, an amazing holiday. Thank you, Vihann. I highly recommend Africa and Discover Africa. I should also say that the 14-hour direct Sydney to Jo’burg flight is a blessing for Australians going to South Africa. So easy and a great A380 plane and crew. The old Qantas that we all remember.

Discover Africa took my husband’s outline of where we were interested in travelling and turned it into a fantastic trip. Diane at Discover Africa recommended the lodges we stayed at in South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana, and all were first-rate. Each place had something special about it, and each had wonderful safari guides. We had an amazing two weeks and can recommend Discover Africa Safaris without qualification. Not only that, but Discover Africa was so easy to deal with, very responsive any time we had questions, and provided just the right amount of communication in the lead up to our trip.

Frankly, I didn’t expect to enjoy the safari experience as much as I did. But it was incredible and now I’m trying to figure out a way to do it again. I’ll certainly be contacting Megan and Discover Africa for their guidance next time as well.
