Cape Town and Sabi Sand Safari Honeymoon

We were initially overwhelmed with all of the options for African Safaris when we first started planning our trip. Luckily, Discover Africa responded promptly to our initial request for information and we were quickly scheduled for an initial consult with Adelle Bell.

Adelle presented several options and really listened to our feedback to tailor a perfect week in the African bush for our honeymoon. She took care of absolutely everything for us besides the international flights, which was a big weight off our shoulders after just planning so much time planning our wedding ourselves. She was also extremely communicative throughout the planning process and while we were on the ground the week of our honeymoon as well.

We spent 3 nights at Motswari in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve followed by 3 nights at Arathusa in Sabi Sands Private Game reserve. Both lodges and reserves surpassed our expectations. Motswari felt like a much more traditional and authentic safari experience, while Arathusa felt more up-scale and resort like. The staff and hospitality at both were fantastic, and the game drives surpassed our expectations immediately.

If you are considering booking a vacation to Africa, I would highly recommend booking through Discover Africa and asking for Adelle specifically. She will knock it out of the park!

So impressed with Discover Africa Safaris and especially Susan! Being a first time traveler to Africa I had so many questions. She took the time to listen to what we wanted to experience and gave us many options to choose from. After we chose what tour we wanted ,she set everything up.

Unfortunately, I had to postpone my trip for a year because of an emergency, and she was so very helpful when we needed to reschedule. Her communication was prompt and clear and she was so kind as to check up on me several times. She re-booked our trip and checked in with us several times before we left to make sure everything was clear. She was also extremely available to answer any last-minute questions.

She was absolutely correct in her advice. Everything from flights to transfers to the amazing tour she booked for us was all that we could have dreamed of and more. We recommend Discover Africa Safaris and Susan highly and appreciate her tireless work,advice and kindness.

Matthys was our agent, and he is very knowledgeable and thoughtful, and spent a lot of time planning with us, both through zoom and email, to make sure our custom itinerary was spot-on. The trip was incredible! Exactly what we dreamed of for a first-time Africa experience. We visited Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta, and Cape Town. All of the accommodations and guides were wonderful and all of the travel arrangements were smooth. We highly recommend Matthys and Discover Africa!

From start to finish every detail was taken care of. It exceeded all our expectations. The Villa, Hotels, and Safari were all 5*+.
The Vineyard trips were amazing with such informative guides. The transfers were effortless. The Holiday of a lifetime which will be remembered forever at a price we could afford.

The communications were perfect , the guides in safari lodges are very knowledgeable in wild life and nature, they were incredible. the safari itself was unbelievable, we could see the big five except Rynos, we saw leopards hunting impalas and bringing it up to the tree and feeding their cubs, Lions, elephants girafes, hippos, wild dogs all the wild life in Okavango delta.

The landscape, the colors, the smell… we flew over in a small plane with 6 seats, and during 45 min we didn’t see any population, nothing than nature.

The lodges are very integrated in the nature and the service is very intimistic, everybody seats at one table to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only thing to point out is that the lodges should be renovated as they look slightly worned out.

First rate communications. My agent ( Megan) was attentive to my requests and did her best to meet all my very demanding requirements. Everything that she arranged was excellent – I have one complaint, but it was not the fault of Discover Africa but the Tour Operator themselves.
