The Zambezi River was dammed more than 50 years ago to form one of the world’s largest man-made lakes allowing Bumi Hills safari Lodge to offer the added dimension of water for cruises, fishing for the fighting “Tigerfish” and safaris to complement the traditional 4 x 4 mode and the rich local Tonga culture. Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan, not too far from Chitake Springs. The 12-bedded tented camp has en-suite bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and basins overlooking the water hole. One of the tents is a family tent with its own private dining and seating area. The main area has a comfortable lounge and dining area offering you uninterrupted views of a very active water hole. Relax in the upper deck lounge under the shade of a mahogany or sit on the deck below near the splash pool and enjoy Kanga − the old Africa in a new era.

The diverse area has multiple vlei lines, river systems of the Ruckomechi River, and mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse bush and riverine forests. Kanga Pan itself is the only known water source in the area available throughout the year, making it a hub for wildlife and a delight to explore on foot. Pristine and undeveloped, this area gives you a pure, unspoilt, private African safari experience.

Situated in the heart of the Matobo Hills, just outside the boundary of the national park, lies Khayelitshe House. Enclosed by the iconic balancing rocks and surrounded by a natural amphitheater of massive boulders, Khayelitshe House got its name from the Ndebele words ‘Ekhaya’ and ‘Litshe’- Home in the Rocks.

The environmentally friendly design blends in perfectly with the ancient and majestic landscape that surrounds the property. Fully serviced and consisting of 4 en-suite luxury bedrooms with incredible views from every window, the house inspires a feeling of remoteness that is hard to capture.

The private land around Khayelitshe House covers over 1200 acres of breath-taking wilderness, making it a beautiful escape from the grind of daily life.

Matobo Hills has one of the last populations of wild white rhinos in the world. With your experienced private guide, you’ll be able to get close to these magnificent animals making for some great photographic opportunities.

This beautiful camp is tucked under the trees on the edge of the Khwai River in the Okavango Delta’s community-run Khwai Concession. The Moremi Game Reserve and the concession are separated only by this river, which is frequented by hippos, elephants, and even lions.

Watching these animals manoeuvre through the water is an exceptional experience for even the most travelled safari veterans. Six regular tents and one family unit are housed in the elegantly built camp, keeping with the intimate and exclusive wilderness experience.

The new camp seamlessly blends luxurious accommodations with the feeling of being in the great African outdoors. An authentic contemporary African style is created with woven baskets and beaded décor, as well as modern elements.

Guests will go on game drives, walking safaris, and mokoro safaris (depending on water levels) throughout the day in search of Africa’s big game, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, buffalo, hippo, and giraffes.

Located along the banks of the Khwai River in the Khwai Concession of Botswana, African Bush Camps is excited to announce the opening of Khwai Lediba, a luxury tented safari camp.

The new lodge will accommodate up to 16 guests and will feature environmentally friendly tented accommodations equipped with modern furnishings and amenities. Each of the 6 double rooms and 1 family unit will have an en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a private deck, luxurious bedding, and more.

The central camp includes a pool, dining area with an open kitchen, and bar with a sunken lounge. Meals, cocktails, and bubbly will be served indoors or al fresco on a deck surrounded by sycamore and leadwood trees with stunning views across the river.

Khwai Lediba is situated near the Moremi National Park and offers you a front-row seat to the wildlife action of the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta, known for its diverse wildlife population, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and more.

Activities at the camp include morning, afternoon, and night game drives, as well as walking and moroko safaris (depending on water levels).

The camp also offers the opportunity to visit the nearby Khwai village preschool as part of the African Bush Camps Foundation’s community empowerment projects.

Linyanti Bush Camp is situated on the banks of Linyanti Marsh in a private reserve which borders the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave. The marshes are the only water source for miles around and attract water-adapted and desert-adapted wildlife, plus large numbers of birds.

Linyanti Bush Camp is an intimate camp with 6 luxury tents on the banks of the Linyanti Marsh. The elevated communal area offers a cosy lounge, bar and dining area, as well as a pool, with beautiful views of the unique Linyanti landscape.

Linyanti is best known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season. Other wildlife encounters include lion, leopard, wild dog, the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, hippo and crocodile. The area also offers spectacular birding all year round.

Nestled in the Chobe Enclave, Linyanti Ebony is designed especially with families in mind. The enclave is a sanctuary for vast herds of elephants, presenting a golden chance to witness these majestic creatures at close quarters. Perched on elevated wooden platforms, Linyanti Ebony offers captivating views of the Linyanti Marshlands.

The camp can be booked on exclusive use, for your large family, or a group of friends. Adventure awaits with an array of activities: from dawn and dusk game drives to immersive walking safaris. Younger explorers, under 16, can indulge in enlightening nature walks. As water levels permit, glide through the Linyanti wetlands on a mokoro.

The camp features 4 opulent Meru-styled tents, reminiscent of classic African charm. Linyanti Expeditions is an intimate expeditions camp situated in a private concession, bordering the Chobe National Park. Linyanti Expeditions exudes a bygone era and is ideal for safari-goers looking for an authentic African experience.

Being an expeditions camp, Linyanti comprises of 6 luxury tents and accommodates a maximum of 12 people. At night, you are welcomed to the main tented area for a dining extravaganza with an open fire. You can also relax and enjoy exquisite views overlooking the vast Linyanti wetlands.

The Chobe Enclave offers an abundance of wildlife species including large herds of elephant and buffalo making for exhilarating walking safaris which are the focus at Linyanti Expeditions. Nyamatusi is African Bush Camps’ third camp in Mana Pools National Park and is located in the Nyamatusi Wilderness area.

The park itself exudes a feeling of beauty, an untouched wilderness. Mana Pools offers a diversity of different wildlife and bird species, including the endangered and rare wild dog. The Zambezi River itself is famous for its large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles.

Nyamatusi Camp is situated on the banks of the renowned Zambezi River and is a representation of the surrounding environment. The camp is reminiscent of days gone by and is inspired by nature. Nyamatusi comprises of 6 spacious and well-appointed luxury tents, each with its own private deck and plunge pool, offering remote views overlooking the Zambezi.

Watch the drama of nature play out before your eyes on game drives or thrilling canoeing safaris. Fishing on the Zambezi River (catch and release only) and birding safaris are highlights here. Nyamatusi is African Bush Camps’ third camp in Mana Pools National Park and is located in the Nyamatusi Wilderness area. The park itself exudes a feeling of beauty, an untouched wilderness. Mana Pools offers a diversity of different wildlife and bird species, including the endangered and rare wild dog. The Zambezi River itself is famous for its large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles.

Positioned alongside the famous Somalisa Camp, known as ‘the home of the elephants’, this charming camp caters for an intimate gathering of only 8 people. All the simple but luxurious tents are on slightly raised decks, under the dappled canopy of a grove of Acacias on the western side of Somalisa.

The camp enjoys its own private views of a small water hole, frequented by large herds of big game including buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe, and even lion. A small splash pool allows you to cool off during the heat of the day. Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most of the activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.

Set in the heart of Hwange National Park, Somalisa Camp offers guests the perfect blend of old African charm and elegance. Tucked beneath an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, this camp has breathtaking views of the savannah plains of the famous Kennedy Vlei line.
Activities include guided walks led by passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives, bird watching, and evening spot lighting. The area provides guests with the opportunity to see a variety of plains game and predators including elephant, kudu, sable, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, white rhino, lion, leopard, and hyena amongst other wildlife species. In addition, after the first rains, the Kennedy Vlei is scattered with flamboyant colors from the seasonal wildflowers that emerge during this time of year – making it one of the prettiest areas in Hwange National Park.

Somalisa Expeditions is set in the heart of Hwange National Park and is known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. As an exact replica of the original Somalisa Camp, Somalisa Expeditions offers one of the most authentic ways to experience this exceptional wildlife haven.

Nestled under an incredible grove of Acacias along the edge of a seasonal flood plain. Somalisa Expeditions’ main area includes a lounge and dining area on raised decking, which overlooks a small pool, which elephants have become habituated to drinking out of. Add to this, the waterhole is frequently used as a ‘mud-bath’ and a popular rendezvous for the elephants. The up-close encounters and photographic opportunities with these majestic animals are endless.

Consisting of six elegantly furnished Luxury Meru Style Tents, each tent has en-suite bathroom facilities with an outdoor feel. Activities include guided walks led by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives.

Thorntree River Lodge is set in Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, just a short distance from the famous Victoria Falls, Thorntree River Lodge is being completely rebuilt with an environmentally-conscious design.

The lodge will boast 8 twin rooms and 2 family units comprising of 4 beds each. Each unit will have its own indoor and outdoor bathrooms, as well as a luxurious private plunge pool.
