Best Places to Visit in Chobe National Park

We were referred to Discover Africa to book our honeymoon safari by friends who had used them previously and spoke very highly of them and we could not have been happier. We worked with Susan and Adelle and they listened to what we were thinking in regards to amount and types of adventures vs. leisure, settings, and budget and helped craft a great itinerary that made our honeymoon so special. We spent 4 days in Zanzibar at a hotel of their recommendation and it was the perfect way to start the trip coming right from the wedding. We then spent 8 nights on Safari and it was everything we could ever dreamed of. We had a private guide, Charmy, for 2 days in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Crater and he was one of the highlights of our trip. He was so welcoming, knowledgeable about the animals/environment, and was so easy to connect with that he instantly made us comfortable and excited about the trip. He listened to us and what we were hoping to see and also recommended and made it a personal experience that was so memorable. We couldn’t recommend Charmy more to anyone coming on a Safari. He was a perfect guide.

The second 4 days we were in the Northern Serengeti with a different guide, Habib, and had an equally amazing and different experience than the other 3 locations. We learned so much from Habib and Victor about the Great Migration, the habitats and habits of the animals that live on the savannah and really came away with incredible memories and knowledge. It was a phenomenal 4 days here.

The travel, transfers, and communication was seamless and allowed us to travel with ease around the 5 different locations on our 12 night trip. The Discover Africa team was there to help make it as easy for us to enjoy this trip as possible and they succeeded. Thank you!

After discovering a high number of camps in and around the Okavango, and at a price higher than we typically go for on a safari, we were very unsure on the route to go down for our honeymoon (especially whilst trying to planning our wedding!). We had a fantastic time at Rra Dinare, Moremi Crossing and Nxai Pan camps. All of the camps are managed by Kwando Safaris who are also exceptional. We had great wildlife sightings at all 3 camps – it was very hard to choose which camp we preferred as they are all amazing in their own way, as are the guides and staff at all camps. Adelle had also arranged private dinners and champagne for us at 2 of the 3 camps, which was a lovely addition. Our highlight was the camping out in the bush evening under the stars listening to the hippos calling and lions roaring all night.

There were many moving parts to our schedule, but every step was thoroughly planned out so there was no stress – first class service all around! We were provided tickets and vouchers beforehand, Matthys thoroughly walked us through the activities and schedule, and was very receptive to all of our feedback and requests.

The clear standout of our entire trip was our stay at Simbambili with our incredible guide and tracker, Doctor and Service. They are worth a request! Obviously a ton of work went into the planning up front, but Matthys was also very helpful and responsive to our last minute add-ons while we were in Africa. He was easy to contact and got back to all members of our party immediately.

Coming in absolutely blind on how to plan an Africa trip, I stumbled across Discover Africa Safaris on the internet and reached out for an inquiry. Susan responded and started off with a video conference to ask about what we were thinking. Susan was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions as well as providing great insights that I wasn’t thinking of. My trip had additional complexities since I was going to a family wedding before, but Susan was able to navigate logistics with ease. She provided 3 options for our trip. Once we picked, she handled all the bookings/reservations in Africa. After things were booked, she proactively reached out for trip reminders, checked us in on our domestic flights within Africa, and reached out to ask how things were going while we were on our trip.
