We live in Australia and I honestly didn’t know who to contact about organising a trip of a lifetime and I really wanted someone that knew Africa and not someone that was from Australia and just guessed.

I found Discover Africa on TikTok and got in touch with Justin and my gosh I am so beyond happy we did!

He was amazing from day one. He answered all my questions even the ones I felt were a bit silly to ask but it was no problem at all. He was beyond fantastic! There are no words that I explain what Justin did for us and the experience he has given us that will remain with us for a lifetime.

The itinerary was incredible with some extras he booked that I wouldn’t even of thought about! He organised everything from transfers to accommodation flights to a sunset cruise that were all beyond amazing! From start to finish, every phase of our trip was seamless. From the man who greeted us at Nairobi airport when we arrived to the woman who assisted us at our departure, we were taken care of perfectly. Our lodges at Saruni Samburu and Saruni Mara were beautiful. The staff was welcoming and we had genuine conversations that gave us an appreciation of their culture. Matthys at Discover Africa listened to our priorities. He communicated well and made our remarkable safari to Kenya a dream come true.

I had 2 months lead time to plan a Botswana safari so I googled tour companies. After emailing a few, I chose Discover Africa. Susan Veldman responded quickly and was able to figure out an 8 night safari, with stays in 3 different camps. Each one was amazing. The kindness of each and every staff member at all 3 was heartwarming. The bush flights between camps were so easy once we did our initial one. I was stressed about the suitcase and weight restrictions, but it was really a non-issue.

They don’t measure or weigh anything. I had purchased 30” roller duffles but then saw it was 24”, so changed to an over the shoulder bag. The 30” would have been fine. Each camp also provides mosquito repellent so no need to take. The food was absolutely delicious and so much: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktail hour, and dinner. The trip was surreal. After a week, we felt like we were gone a month!

Amanda's Botswana Safari Adventure

When there are so many choices out there for safari tours, we were a little overwhelmed. But when we reached out to Adele from Discover Africa, she is prompt in her response and understood our request and very quickly she put together a tour that is one of the best holiday of our lives!

At Hoya Hoya we were greeted with the most amazing hospitality, and even though it’s full board, the chef prepared different dishes the 3 days we were there. Andrew, our driver and guide is fantastic, and we saw the big five during our stay and of course the ‘live tv’ just opposite our dining place allow us the best experience of our lives. The elephants, giraffes and even hyenas visited the watering hole that Hoyo Hoyo built was just brilliant.

Our next adventure at Chisomo Karongwe private game reserve did not disappoint. On top of the big five, Polly (guide) and Eddie (tracker) made my dream came true by spotting 3 cheetahs during the morning drive.
