Rwanda in December

I cannot speak highly enough of Discover Africa. From the first interaction with Chrizaan, we felt confident that our trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe was going to be the trip of our lives.

Chrizaan was kind and thoughtful and really listened to what we wanted to do. On our bucket list was safari and a luxury rail, and she presented an incredible itinerary covering 5 days at Amaya Lodge in the Timbavati (best 5 days of our LIFE), and a trip on the Rovos Rail. Our trip included Cape Town, Franschhoek, and Victoria Falls. Everything was planned to perfection – from our pickups and drop-offs, flights, all transfers, accommodation, tours, and everything in between.

Safari was our highlight, and Chrizaan’s choice of AMAYA lodge perfectly matched us and our budget.

If we needed anything during our trip, she was a WhatsApp message away and would always respond promptly. If we needed to change a pickup time, she was ready to assist.

We cannot recommend her and Discover Africa enough. I cannot wait to plan our next trip with her help.

This was our first experience using an online booking agent and it was outstanding. Justin went through our requirements even though we were pretty sure we knew what we wanted (we really didn’t!) and came up with a plan that met our needs, including coordination with our existing travel plans. Frank, my guide and driver, was beyond expectations. I was an unusually quiet person, and somehow Frank seems to know that and provided me a perfect safari experience with just enough information and friendliness without making it seems overwhelming for me. He somehow noticed a lot of details while searching for animals, birds, plants and even insects while driving in the relatively difficult paths.

Both accommodations suggested by Adelle were great. I couldn’t ask for more. As a solo traveller, it isn’t always easy. It turned out to be beyond I had ever dreamed of. The feeling and experience when we stopped in the middle of hundreds or thousands of animals walking around us in the same direction was more than words can describe. Thank you Adelle. We truly cherished every moment of our trip—there are countless experiences and memories that words can hardly capture. Cape Town was a vibrant and thrilling city, full of upscale shopping and exceptional dining. Jock Lodge stood out with its charming, rustic “woodsie” design and unique layout. And Palm River Hotel was simply magical—sipping coffee while watching elephants, warthogs, monkeys, and kudu roam freely in their natural habitat was unforgettable.

This trip was all about making memories, and it did just that. Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Mala Mala Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls, and finally Zanzibar. Our boutique hotels along the way were nothing less than stunning, as was Lanzarac Manor in Stellenbosch. The lasting memory is that of Mala Mala. If I could score it higher than 100%, then I would. So well organised.

Brilliant guide – Geena. The big five, not once but on several occasions. Excellent accommodation and first-rate staff. The whole trip went like a dream thanks to Vihann Van Wyk who checked in with us several times and even checked us in for all of our flights. I’d strongly recommend Discover Africa Safaris to anyone considering a trip to Africa and especially a safari. Well done Discover Africa. One off the bucket list!
