July marks the start of the Mara River crossing as well as the mating season in the Serengeti.
Safari guide Firozdin Rafiq saw the great herds in the Kogatende in the Makutano area. However, with the heavy rains in the Nyamalumbwa area all the way towards the Gardenia Valley, the herds are expected to stay for a few more weeks on the Nyamalumbwa and Gardenia Valley plains.
