Botswana Safari – Short and Sweet

Justin helped us with the safari and Victoria Falls portion of our trip to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The lodges were fantastic and ground transfers perfectly executed. We had an amazing time!

I have just returned from my third visit to my favorite safari camps in Botswana. Each time, I have taken a different friend with me. I always tell them that Matthys van Aswegen is a master at organizing my trips, but it’s not until they actually go with me that they realize I am not exaggerating! Every detail is addressed, and any special requests I may have are always achieved.

The very best part of this trip was that I actually got to meet Matthys and his dear wife, Leri, while I was in Cape Town. I was so happy to finally have the chance to personally thank him for all he has done to provide me with the beauty and magic of Africa. I already have another trip planned for April 2025, and perhaps even another in 2026. Thank you Discover Africa and Matthys!

JJ's Safari Experience

Fellow travelers, I had not a worry ! as the itinerary went so went our adventure! From the Drivers to the Hotel staff to the small aircraft pilots! Wonderful! Always there to make our travels smooth and refreshing ! I drink lots of water and really appreciated that they all had bottled water for me! Then we have the Lodges and the staff, who could not have made us feel more welcome and accommodated!

The food was delicious and the icing on the cake were our guides of course Jinxy at Saguni lodge and Cosi at Kazidore lodge! I should not forget to say that both lodges were as pictured, and accommodations did not disappoint! Discover Africa really took care of us ! Susan called us several times throughout our trip to check on us, and make sure we were well cared for and satisfied with our stay.

We just came back from our outstanding 7-day trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe organized by “Discover Africa”.

From the very first moment on when we got in touch with Megan from Discover Africa about 7 month prior to the trip everything was very professional. Megan was very proactive and reactive to all kind of questions and also gave some important information which helped us to select the right camps.

We have been in Okavango Delta and stayed at Camp Okavango. This is a very magic place. If you are coming from a busy city in an industrialized country and suddenly you are put in this significant landscape, is a really outstanding experience. The people in this camp are so friendly and each individual goes far the extra mile to make the stay as extraordinary as it was. The wildlife guides are very experienced and the best part of this camp are the hikes, together with the guides. We have collected so many impressions, which would be far too much for this review.

Just one of “never forget” experiences have been the approach during a hike to a pride of lions which we viewed just like 20 meters away. This is lifetime experience we will never forget. After that we continued to Chobe Game Lodge, which was very different from Okavango, but also very beautiful and outstanding.

Chobe is a very interesting area. We have seen 4 out of the “Big 5” there. Unfortunately no Rhinos, but I think that’s become very rare these days Unfortunatly. Chobe Game Lodge is also an excellent place and the people are doing an outstanding service there. After Chobe we continued to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We stayed and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

Victoria Falls is something very impressing to see. I think once been there, it’s very impressive but we not go there again. Besides the Falls there is noch much around and the area is very expensive and only focuses on tourists. Vic Falls Safari Lodge is nice, but from a Service standpoint not comparable to either Camp Okavango or Chobe Game Lodge.

Overall, from an organizational standpoint, Discover Africa organized a great trip and everything worked out very well. We never had a situation where we felt uncomfortable or did not now how to go ahead. I would express my sincere appreciation to Megan and the whole team at Discover Africa who made this trip possible for us. For sure in future we will again go with Discover Africa.

We loved working with Discover Africa for our trip. Matthys was excellent to work with and gave us great advice on how to maximize our time in Africa. We went to South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

Everything was so well organized and we did not have to worry about a thing while we were gone. It was truly an unforgettable experience and we’ve had so much fun telling our friends and family about our African adventure. I highly recommend Discover Africa and can’t wait to go to Africa again!

I cannot praise them highly enough. Everything was spot on from the day we booked. What was surprising to me most Travel Companies book and forget but not Megan or Discover Africa. I regularly had emails and when it came to our trip a bon voyage they were amazing.
