Botswana Safari – Short and Sweet

I worked with Justin Van Wyk at Discover Africa Safaris to arrange safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana, including a stop at Victoria Falls, for two of my children and me. The safaris were exquisite, and Justin was phenomenal—professional, responsive, and detail-oriented. He patiently helped refine my changing requirements and dreams until we created a luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime trip. The adventure was extremely well organized: there were no surprises, we were greeted at each location, and transportation between destinations was well planned and flexible when needed.

The six luxury camps arranged by Discover Africa and Justin were outstanding. The food was excellent, and even my picky daughter ate well at every meal. The accommodations and furnishings were beautiful, and the staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Everyone at the camps prioritized safety and made sure we always felt comfortable and secure.

The actual safaris and activities we out-of-this-world. My goals of this trip were to have my adult children see the Big Five and to capture pictures of leopards. We saw a leopard on the first day! And around a dozen in all. Many amazing pictures were taken as well. With a side trip to see rhinos, we did see the Big Five, and many, many more wild African animals. We even caught tiger fish…

Home from a great trip to South Africa and Botswana, which was totally organised by Adelle at Discover Africa. Adelle was recommended to us by a friend, and after Adelle asked us what we would like to do and achieve on holiday, Adelle put together some great itineraries, and after some fine tuning between us, it ended up being the best holiday we have ever enjoyed. We never had to worry about any pick-ups, trips, hotel stays, or visits as everything was well organised. Next time we plan to visit Southern Africa again, we will ask Adelle to help us again.

My experience was terrific. From the help I received to planning it, to the actual trip and the organization of the trip. There were no surprises. Susan Veldman expertly and promptly addressed all my concerns, before and while I was on the trip. The locations were magnificent and friendly to travelers. Highly recommended!

Ed's Botswana and Victoria Falls Safari Experience

There is NOTHING that could have made this trip better. Despite many transfers (e.g., opportunities for problems) not a single issue arose., mostly because Megan is awesome and so accessible.

We had complete confidence in the team at Discover Africa, which left us free to enjoy this amazing, perhaps once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The sights, the food, the accommodations, and the many interactions we had over three weeks left us with lasting memories and a bucketload of amazing pictures.

Antoinette was extremely prompt with responses to questions and most anxious to provide options for all of our requests for tours. She communicated using telephone, email, text and What’s App, whatever was required to assure we had answers as promptly as possible. When we had to make last minute changes to tours because of flight delays, she was immediately on top of it, allowing us to see everything we originally scheduled, despite loss of a full day in Cape Town.

The guide service provided was exceptional. We had private tours for all events, allowing flexibility in timing and stops when we wanted. The Cape of Good Hope tour, the penguin colonies and Table Top Mountain gondola ride were amazing because of the knowledge of our guide.

Our Botswana Safari and Victoria Falls Elephant camps were of excellent quality with diversity between Okavango Delta and Moremi camps that allowed extraordinary wildlife sightings. The elephant encounter at Victoria Falls and our helicopter and guided tour of the falls allowed us to really see its full magnitude. There are so many wonderful things to say about Antoinette and Discover Africa.
