Wildebeest herds spotted in the Southern Serengeti

HerdTracker update 03 Feb 2023 by Ranger Safaris

The wildebeest herds are currently spread around the Southern Serengeti (Kusini, Maswa Game Reserves ) and towards Moru Kopjes.

On the 3rd of Ferbuary 2023 they were seen spanning from Ndutu ( ncaa ) to the Southern Serengeti Plains and across Nabi and all the way from Moru area in SNP to Gol Kopjes.

From December to February it is Calving Season for the Widebeest and the herds would be found in the Southern region of the Serengeti. Here vulnerable calves are hunted by predators and only the fittest will survive. In late February the wildebeest herds will continue on their journey North where they will be facing new challenges.

The nearest accommodation to the herds: Subeti Tented Camp
