Day 1-2

Cape Town

Staying at Tintswalo Atlantic

Collect your car at the rental depot (either at the airport or in town) and depart for your 10-day journey around the Cape Peninsula. Let us know if you would like some recommendations or a possible routing. You have total freedom to fill your days with as many excursions and visits as you wish or to drive from point to point and relax at the outstanding accommodation you choose. Spend two nights at Tinstwalo Atlantic, whose location is incredible and the views breathtaking. Be sure to pre-book your dinner at the lodge, one of the best restaurants in Cape Town.  Sitting at the foot of Chapman’s Peak, the lodge is perched on a pebbled beach, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque Hout Bay harbor, the dramatic Sentinel mountain peak, and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.

Day 3-4

Cape Peninsula

Staying at Tintswalo Boulders

Continue around the Peninsula, we suggest visiting Cape Point and arriving in SimonsTown before sunset. Spend 2 nights at Tintswalo Boulders, located on the other side of the point, in False Bay, part of the Indian ocean. Tintswalo at Boulders overlooks Boulders Beach and its famous penguin colony. The soft sandy beaches are surrounded by granite boulders sheltering it from strong winds and the wild waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Chat to your host who can assist in making a reservation for you at popular restaurants. There are many nature based activity to experience in the area, from kayaking, mountain biking, surfing, or simply relax on the beach.

Day 5-6

Cape Winelands

Staying at Boschendal Wine Estate

You will then drive inland to reach the vineyards near Stellenbosch. The following two days are designed to give you time to experience some of the area's different wine estates and drive to nearby Franschhoek or Paarl. It is worth researching, depending on your wine palate, or enjoying a day hopping on the wine tram and being guided by the different routes. Your stay at Boschendal is on a B&B basis; you can book meals at the various eateries or order from their well-stocked deli.   The restful Orchard Cottage will offer you space to relax, reconnect, and unwind away from the distractions of daily life. Explore the farm paths, cool down by the pool or one of the magnificent farm dams, or enjoy the opportunity to sit and read, relax, and enjoy the goodness of farm living.

Day 7-9

Whale Coast

Staying at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge

Depart on the coastal Clarens Road, one of the most scenic route in Southern Africa. If you travel between July to November, you might get a chance to view the whales that are typically around during this time of the year. You travel through Hermanus and continue towards Stanford, where Mosaic Lagoon is nestled between ocean and mountains. You will arrive in a magical and ecological gem of a wilderness filled with unique birds and plants; beach, water and land adventures; creative food; and friendly caring service. The next 3 nights are inclusive of your meals and some set activities. Speak to the lodge manager on arrival to set up your days as per your preferences and availability. There are also some additional tours available if you wish to take a helicopter flip, go shark cage diving or take a boat trip to see the whales (in season). To experience the Cape Whale Coast is to experience a majesty unlike any other. The air is clean, the water is clear and the scenery is spectacular.

End of Itinerary

Last day on the road, have breakfast and check out. Return to Cape Town and return the car, or extend your stay in the Mother City.
