Verney’s Camp is situated in the south-central part of Hwange National Park, on a remote private concession of 10 000 hectares. It is a beautiful amphitheatre fringed by teak forest that opens up onto a waterhole that is a playground to the famous elephant herds of Hwange.
The camp comprises of ten classic style tents, two of which are family tents. All are at ground level set on wooden decks and each tent is tastefully furnished, with en-suite bathrooms comprising shower, toilet and double basins.
Natural paths lead to the main camp areas where the dining area, lounge and boma overlook a waterhole.
Activities include day and night game drives, bird-watching, guided walks with armed rangers (guide availability dependent) and shorter cultural visits to villages nearby. A half day tour to a local school in the national park may be arranged, the tour also stops at a small village, and the Wild Dog Research Centre.
