Is the Shinde Footsteps for Me?

Shinde Footsteps was rebuilt and re-opened in May 2023. Nestled on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta in the Shinde Private Concession, this charming and timeless camp will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. Located 1 hour away from the airstrip, you will truly be in a remote area.

The camp retains its delicate footprint and endearing character while offering a discerning safari experience. Days are spent exploring the wilderness areas, while evenings are wound away around the fire, down on the Kalahari sand.

The main area comprises a dining mess in addition to a lounge, both with views over a permanent hippo pool. A photo editing suite complete the main area.

This camp is ideal for a family or group of friends traveling together. You will enjoy both land and water based activities all year long.

Walking in the Okavango Delta’s wilderness is the highlight of a true safari experience. No special training is required as the focus is on exploration and discovery – tracking fresh spoor each morning to reveal the night’s events.

Game Drive

Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. When out on game drives our window seat guarantee ensures no more than four guests per vehicle and individual use of a camera mount.

Mokoro Excursions

Mokoro or fishing trips (subject to water levels) provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta; such as sitatunga, fish eagles, painted reed frogs and malachite kingfishers. Climb aboard a Mokoro with your ʻpolerʼ and enjoy exploring the Okavango Deltaʼs tranquil waterways.

Guests will be in the hands of the best professional guides whose first passion is to interpret and bring to life every aspect of the bush.
