Day 1

Arusha National Park

Staying at Hatari Lodge

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and meet with our driver for the transfer to the lodge.

Nested within the protected woodlands of Mt. Meru near the Momella meadow, Hatari is one of the very few properties located inside the Arusha National Park. With a fun historical significance, this legendary bush lodge was the setting for the famed 1963 film Hatari starring John Wayne, Elsa Martinelli and Hardy Krüger.

The lodge is the perfect location for your first night, away from the hustle and bustle of town, you can immerse yourself with nature, walk through the property and if there is time, depending on your flight arrival, we can add a game drive in the Park. Dinner and night.

Day 2

Lake Eyasi

Staying at Ziwani Lodge

After breakfast, meet with your safari guide and depart with a private safari vehicle (open top and large side windows, ideal for game viewing).

The drive is about 2.5 hours to lake Manyara National Park, where you enjoy a game drive and a canoe trip on the lake (water level dependent). Lake Manyara is home to an incredible array of bird life, including thousands of pink-hued flamingos. You can get very close to giraffes, elephants, buffalos and other animals grazing on the shoreline. All from the comfort of your canoe. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the beauty that surrounds you on this canoe safari.

Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue towards Lake Eyasi and Ziwani Lodge. Relax at the lodge, enjoy the sunset before a delicious diner and night.

Day 3

Lake Eyasi

Staying at Ziwani Lodge

Today is a very early wake up call to meet with the Hadzabe tribe and spend a couple of hours with them while they forage for food as per their morning routine.

The Hadza, as they are better known, are East Africa’s last remaining true hunter-gatherers. As one of Africa’s oldest tribes, they have lived sustainably on their land near the Rift Valley, birthplace of humanity, for over 50,000 years. Their current number stands at 1,000 and they are on the verge of extinction, living in the Lake Eyasi Valley and surrounding hills. As the men go on the hunting sessions, women gather fruits and berries. They eat an amazing variety of wild fruits and berries like no other tribe in Tanzania which has proven to be their survival strength.

Return to the lodge on time for a late lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. There is a wonderful pool to dip in during the heat of the day, or ask your guide to take you on a walk to the Lake shore nearby. Dinner and night at the lodge.

Day 4

Ngorongoro

Staying at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp

After breakfast, you continue the exploration of the Ngorongoro Highlands and drive up to the Crater. Take a bit of time for the famous photo overlooking the Crater and travel to the camp, located not far on the Crater Rim within the forested area.

Arrive on time for lunch, and an afternoon visit to the local Masai Chief and his village (this is not a touristic village, the Chief has an agreement with the camp). You return to the camp and have a bit of time to relax around the fire before dinner and night.

Day 5

Ngorongoro

Staying at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp

Early wake up call and gather for the game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater. Because you stay not too far from a descent point, you have the opportunity to be one of the first vehicles to enter the Crater floor and can expect a couple of hours with limited game vehicles.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world, with its steep walls, is home to incredible scenes of natural drama daily, as prey and predators graze and stalk their way around the open grasslands in such close proximity that it truly feels like a Garden of Eden.

Spend as long as you want on the Crater floor, with a packed breakfast-or picnic lunch and return to camp in the afternoon, time at leisure and enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Day 6-9

Northern Serengeti

Staying at Serian’s Serengeti Lamai

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip on time for the flight to Serengeti Lamai. Say your good byes to your safari guide and fly to the far north of the park.

On arrival at Lamai airstrip, meet with the camp guide and transfer to camp via a meandering drive. You will be spending 4 nights at Serengeti Lamai, enough time for you to appreciate all this wonderful region has to offer, see the animals (big and small), bond with your safari guide and listen to the stories around the camp fire. You will have a private vehicle to customize your experience, chat to your guide to plan the game drives, as well as some guided walks. The chef can teach you how to cook bread on an open fire, you will learn what plants can heal a toothache, watch the sky full of stars with the only noise of nature surrounding you. The camp has no wi-fi, to allow for a total immersion with the wild.

Day 10

End of Itinerary

The safari is ending, after breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro airport. Time at leisure until your flight out or contcat us to extend with a few days at the beach or a gorilla trekking.
