South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi Safari

The organization of the trip was perfect in every detail. We visited three parks, Hwange, Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa, with challenging transfers both by land and by small planes. But everything was organized very well. Even the lodges where we stayed were of a good standard and very hospitable. We thank Discover Africa and in particular Devryn for this fantastic experience that has remained in our hearts.

This review is long overdue, but I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Vihann at Discover Africa for organizing my two incredible visits to Africa Safari over the past two years. Vihann is not only a pleasure to work with, but his expertise in customizing itineraries is truly exceptional. He makes sure every detail is communicated clearly and always responds promptly to any questions or concerns. His friendly and approachable nature elevates the entire experience.

On my last day in Cape Town last year, I was anxious about the ongoing taxi strike and whether I’d be able to get back to the U.S. on time. While having lunch at a restaurant, I texted Vihann to share my concerns. He responded right away, asking if I could return to the hotel within a specific time frame. He was arranging an earlier ride to the airport to make sure I caught my flight. I was so grateful that he went above and beyond to address my concerns.

Thanks to Vihann at Discover Africa, I’ve had two wonderful trips, and it’s hard to resist the allure of Africa. Perhaps next time, it will be for a gorilla trekking adventure!

We had an amazing two weeks planned in South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana. The lodges and places we stayed at we are all amazing and comfortable. Great staff and planned activities for us. Would highly recommend this tour agency for anyone planning safari adventures.

Found out about Discover Africa while browsing the internet, at first was hesitant to go with them as their office is based in CapeTown and we are from the Philippines, we were thinking of the advantage of going with a local agency in terms of customer support and coordination. but a few exchanges of emails with Matthys who was assigned to us proved that communication was not a problem at all.

Matthys was very patient with all our questions and designed a very good itinerary for us. We also had a problem with an Embassy for our E-Visas and despite this being not part of their deliverables to us, Discover Africa’s team of Matthys, Megan and especially Alice took it upon themselves to really help us by contacting them on our behalf.

The trip went smoothly and everything in the itinerary was delivered as described. Excellent customer service!

Truly living up to their name, the way to discover Africa is thru Discover Africa!

I found the company first class. All my questions were answered quickly and sensibly. Megan, with whom I dealt throughout, was helpful and patient and responded to any questions or queries I had rapidly and efficiently. The price paid was competitive. All told everything happened as it should in an effortless fashion. Full marks.

Working with Megan from Discover Africa to setup our safari was a breeze. She manage to get us to all of the locations we wanted to get to and the camps we wanted to visit.

She was incredibly responsive and helped us with any questions or problems we had. (Don’t forget to find somewhere to store your hard-sided suitcases when you switch to duffel bags!).

All of the Sanctuary Lodges blew our expectations out of the water. Our tracker Sky at Chief’s Camp was amazing and we spent four hours one day tracking down a rhino until we finally managed to see it making our trip complete! The staff at all of the Sanctuary camps were incredibly and being able to go in either private or small groups (4 total people) game tracking made the experience infinitely better.

My only advice to fellow travelers would be to try to take a day trip to see Victoria Falls from the Chobe area instead of going to a camp in Zambia. We found the Botswana national parks to be an overall much better experience than those of Zambia.
