Start your safari in Maun airport on time for the scheduled charter flight (non private) to the camp. During the safari, you will have a private vehicle for your family during the game viewing, all transfers are done on group scheduled as per the camps. Spend 2 nights at Leroo La tau, including all your meals, selected beverages and game viewing activities. Leroo La Tau is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River, which forms the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The Boteti River provides a lifeline for the wildlife which inhabit the arid national park and is a critical link in the annual zebra migration. Leroo La Tau is the perfect base from which to explore this truly unique piece of Botswana paradise.

Transfer to the airstrip on time for the scheduled group charter flight to the Okavango Delta. Xugana Lagoon is widely recognised as the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which itself is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola yet never reaches the sea; instead its immense waters empty over the sands of the Kalahari, where the great thirst of the desert is quenched in a wilderness of freshwater lagoons, channels and islands. Your 2 nights stay at the lodge includes your meals, selected beverages and game viewing activities.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the short hop to the Moremi Game Reserve. The ancient riverine forests, open savannah, serpentine channels and seasonal floodplains that surround the camp make for a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora. Spend 2 nights at Camp Xakanaxa, one of few offering a year-round land and water game-viewing experience, in open 4×4 safari vehicles or powerboats. The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of Elephant, Buffalo, Hyena, Giraffe, Hippo, Wildebeest, Kudu, Lechwe, Lion and Leopard, among many others. Birding is spectacular, especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding.

This morning you will fly to nearby Savute region, part of the Chobe National park area. Activities are organised around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4×4 safari vehicles. Many trips will incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh to give you a chance to see the historic presence of the Savute Channel at the marsh against a backdrop of teeming wildlife. Spend some time at the lodge on the main deck overlooking the Savute Channel, ideal for enjoying the varied wildlife which frequents the channel and waterhole in front of the lodge. A sunken bench in front of the deck allows for low angle photography of the wildlife at the waterhole.

Last day of your safari. Enjoy breakfast and pack up on time for the road transfer to Kasane airport on time for your onward flight.

Leroo La Tau

Leroo La Tau rises majestically above the Boteti River which stretches across the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans in beautiful Botswana.

The park, populated by up to 30,000 zebra and wildebeest closely accompanied by predators, offers guests the chance to experience the exhilaration of seeing large concentrations of game and the resultant predator interaction.

The lodge offers a raised hide above the river where guests can enjoy the spectacular wildlife sightings that we’ve come to expect in this part of Botswana.

If you go at the right time of year, you’ll see the second largest movement of animals in Africa; the Zebra Migration.

Having explored the area and enjoyed a spectacular wildlife phenomenon on guided day and night game drives, guests can retire after dinner to a splendid fireplace overlooking the river.

Camp Xakanaxa

As the custodians of one of Botswana’s very first safari camps, the owners of Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) have gone to extraordinary lengths to preserve its original African bush camp character, whilst always providing guests with every comfort. Its prime location on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve ensures that it is one of the only safari camps which can provide guests with an authentic, year-round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.

Savute Safari Lodge

Located on the banks of the Savute channel, Savute Safari Lodge is intimate, accommodating only 24 guests in cool thatched timber and glass suites. The area is renowned for its population of bull elephant and for the unique interaction of the resident predator species. The close proximity of wildlife translates itself into the recently refurbished, modern African décor.

All suites have private decks, combined bedroom and sitting areas and en-suite facilities. The sitting area, library and cocktail bar are situated in an exquisite thatch and timber main building. Savute boasts a viewing deck, an al fresco dining area and swimming pool – which is ideal for watching game at the waterhole. These features set the lodge apart from other typical safari destinations.

Open 4×4 game drives are conducted in the Savute area, including the famous Savute Marsh, and the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, add magic to a delightful African safari.
