Is the Monachira Camp for Me?
Monachira Camp is located on an island in the Moremi Game Reserve, overlooking the floodplains and wetlands of the Okavango Delta. The camp is built on raised wooden decks and named after the nearby Monachira Channel.
The camp has 8 luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms and 2 two-bedroom family tents. The accommodations are comfortable and blend in with the natural surroundings.
Monachira Camp focuses on water activities, such as motorboat rides and mokoro excursions, which provide great opportunities for wildlife viewing. You may see elephants, lions, leopards, and the rare sitatunga antelope. The Gudigwa heronries nearby are a highlight for birdwatchers.
The camp also offers island nature walks and limited game drives to explore the area’s biodiversity. You can relax in the lounge, take a dip in the pool, and enjoy meals with views of the Delta.
