Kruger, Timbavati and the Panorama Route

Barry helped me plan my dream safari to South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. I was nervous about getting transportation from the airport to my lodges and making sure I was able to make all my safaris on time. Barry planned my itinerary very carefully so I didn’t have anything to worry about.

He was also very good at responding to me consistently whenever I had questions. Sabi Sands, in South Africa, was my favourite. I was so lucky to be able to see the Big 5 on the very first game drive! The lodges in Sabi Sands were so luxurious and the hospitality was incredible. Each country had different terrain and was unique in its own way. I can’t wait to plan my next safari to Africa!

From the first call to Adelle at Discover Africa to the last minute of my holiday was perfection, from the drivers to the accomodation. Adelle fullfilled all my wishes and there was not a single thing to worry about, absolutely everything was organised. The Safari at Sabi Sabi reserve was amazing, we saw the Super 7, the food, accomodation and staff was outstanding at the Little Bush Camp. I was terribly emotional when it came to say good-bye.

Cape Town was a great place to be to visit all the attractions, our accomodation was an 1800 Harbour Masters residence, absolutely beautiful and you really are right in the V&A waterfront, our private guide for the day was so infomative and polite. Hermanus, where we were so lucky to see whales. Our final days at Franschhoek, proved to be the relaxing few days, we stayed at Avonrood Guest house in the Mountain View Suite, which had the most stunning views of the mountains and a very spacious and comfortable room. The vineyards are no distance away, and the restaurants excellent. All in all a wonderful and memorable time. Thank you

Matthys was the Travel Expert that was our “concierge” for the 10-day safari and Capetown tour in late June. We had numerous Zoom calls to iron out the itinerary, places to stay and recreational activities (local tours, golf, etc). Matthys was attentive and listened to what we wanted from the holiday. He curated a wonderful experience that we will cherish. Despite numerous travel delays due to the airlines on our round trip from Los Angeles to South Africa, Matthys was prompt in responding to texts/WhatsApp and made the necessary adjustments for airport pickup or changing in-country travel reservations. The game lodge at Arathusa (at Kruger) exceeded our expectations – it was a 5-star experience. The Capetown wine country tour with a stay at Babylonstoren was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Service: The planning services provided by Discover Africa were top notch. They were very responsive to our communication and very friendly.

We encountered an issue where one of the places we wanted to stay booked up at the last minute, but Discover Africa handled it very professionally (alerting us to the change, providing multiple alternative options, trying their best to secure us a good rate given the trouble).

They checked in with us before the trip to make sure we had what we needed and checked in after the trip as well. Great travel company! Experience: we spent two nights in Kruger National Park at Hamilton’s tented lodge. The setting and amenities were everything you could have asked for, including onsite wildlife, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, good food, stops for coffee and cocktails during game drives, afternoon massages, etc.
