Kruger, Timbavati and the Panorama Route

We just returned yesterday from our Discover Africa honeymoon trip booked by Susan. It was amazing from start to finish. We started out in Cape Town; we visited Boulders Beach, v&a waterfront for the boat rides, etc., and some shopping. The hotel Susan picked was located in the perfect spot, right near many restaurants, and to travel we used Ubers, which all in all was very cheap to use.

Our next stop was Kruger National Park, which was by far my favourite part of the trip. Lion Sands Tinga Lodge was our stay, and the 2 daily game drives were amazing. Even though it was an early start, it was all worth it for what animals we saw, and no game drive was the same. Our last stay was in Victoria Falls. The hotel was amazing, and the views were amazing.

The only downfall of that part was you couldn’t take a walk, etc. out of the hotel due to animals roaming, so you could only use taxis or shuttles, which could end up expensive, and being on a bed and breakfast basis ended up being expensive when buying food at the hotel.

But other than that, all in all, the whole stay was incredible and a once in a lifetime experience. We say we will be back in the future with our children when they are older. Also, Susan was amazing whenever I needed help to sort anything out. Currency/booking my flights, etc., so I made sure we booked the right ones. Thank you again!

Chelsea's Honeymoon Safari Experience

We had the most memorable safari trip with Discover Africa Safaris. Susan put together the perfect itinerary for our first family safari. Her choices were excellent. We loved both safari lodges, and our accommodation in Cape Town was wonderful. Her recommendation for car rental in Cape Town was great, as we were able to drive to Hout Bay, Boulders Beach, and Cape Point easily. I would thoroughly recommend Susan to put together the perfect vacation!

Incredible experience! Diane Du Plessis was our consultant for two South African safaris, one at Umkumbe Bush Lodge (Sabi Sand Nature Reserve) and the other at Motswari Game Reserve (Timbavati Private Game Reserve). Transfers and in-country flights all went off without a hitch. Everywhere we stayed was beautiful and elegant, including our last four days at the Winchester in Capetown.

On safari, we got to see lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, rhinos, hippos, Impalas and more. At both reserves, we saw animals with their kills and got very close without disturbing them. Guides were great at both locations. The bungalows at Umkumbe were brand new and very comfortable. The food was particularly good at Motswari. Motswari has an early coffee and treats before you go out on safari, which is nice. Highly recommend Discover Africa!

Discover Africa provided elite service from start to finish. After explaining what I was looking for in a safari trip, and my approximate budget, I received multiple itinerary options within 12 hours. Not only was each itinerary reflective of exactly the preferences I had set, but (1) every single accommodation option was amazing (2) a few options I had not found anywhere else during my own hours of research (3) the online itineraries themselves were extremely informational and user-friendly. I cross-referenced the prices provided with each itinerary with what they would be had I booked everything individually myself, and found them to be comparable.

After booking the trip, Megan at Discover Africa provided extremely helpful information (a travel tip and packing document, confirmation vouchers, an emergency contact number) and would check in every so often to make sure I didn’t have questions. Her communication was always helpful and never overbearing or spam-like, as I have experienced with other operators.

And finally, the trip itself: absolutely extraordinary. It is one that will stick with me for the rest of my life and it was 100% a result of using DiscoverAfrica. I will use them again whenever I come back, and have already sent out their information to friends and family. I highly recommend their services, you will not find anything better.

We worked with Alice to plan the safari portion of our South Africa trip. Alice was wonderful to work with. She was very helpful with finding 2 safari locations within our budget. We considered both Botswana and South Africa, and she provided some great insight into each area.

The vacation she planned went so smoothly! We were very impressed. The safari lodges and hotel in Joburg were excellent. I would definitely plan another safari through this company.
