Exclusive Okavango Delta Safari

As a party of seven guests we found the travel arrangements seamless and the accommodation well suited to both older and younger members. In addition, we were of mixed bush experience with some seasoned safari members and some first timers. The Lodges and especially the guides were able to accommodate all levels of interest and discussion. We stayed at a lodge in the Chobe concession (our experienced and wise guide was Lebo) as well as in the delta in the Khwai concession (our guide Biyst was approachable and knowledgeable). The Lodges were well appointed, comfortable and the service friendly and impeccable. Discover Africa’s organizational skills were spot on! This was both affordable and value for money. They are clearly the experts in this area and we can highly recommend them especially for first timer safari travellers.

We did a 3-week bespoke tour with Discover Africa and specifically Devryn Panaino. South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana game parks. Our group of 6 had a fantastic time, as the itinerary was top notch, transfers smooth and now we can’t wait to go back. We were nervous about small plane transfers but it was very smooth and professional service. In fact, it puts Aussie’s Jetstar in the shade. We saw all the animals big 5, ugly 5, small 5 and everything in between. Would definitely recommend this company and Devryn. Hot tip: be prepared to spend a bit of money it’s worth it for a truly unique experience.

My mum and I used Discover Africa Safaris to organise a 3 week trip to Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. Devryn (Dev) was absolutely fantastic. He really listened to what we were after and crafted a superb itinerary from beginning to end. He had some great advice about which direction to go and how to get between places and while mum and I were dubious about his ‘gradual experience crescendo’ (we thought we didn’t care if we ping ponged around) however, he was spot on and I think that totally made the trip for us! The whole thing went like clockwork and I would recommend them to anyone who would like a special experience on the beautiful African continent!

Adelle was incredibly helpful from start to finish. Set us up with a great itinerary for our 8-day safari. We were able to see lots of animals and get a great cultural experience in Botswana between the 3 lodges that we stayed at. Highly recommend DiscoverAfrica if you don’t want the headache of trying to plan it all. Let them do it for you. I am not sure the cost is really that different anyway.

Our experience with Discover Africa was excellent from start to finish. Susan was our travel coordinator and we could not have asked for more – she was engaged from the beginning, took all of our personal interests in our bookings into account, and put together a wonderful itinerary for us. When there was a hiccup in the finalization of bookings due to a computer system issue (no fault of Discover Africa) it was no problem, as Susan had alternate bookings on hold that we were able to secure – bookings that ended up being our favorites on the whole trip!

We explored Cape Town, Botswana, and Namibia, and had absolutely wonderful experiences along the way. Throughout multiple flights, bush flights, and car rentals we had zero issues and everything went off without a hitch, and Susan checked it along the way to make sure everything was going smoothly and we were enjoying our travels. As we were on our honeymoon, we were treated to some pre-arranged unexpected surprises during our bookings along the way that made the experience even more memorable. I would absolutely recommend Discover Africa to anybody and will certainly be using them again in the future.

We originally booked 4 nights in Zimbabwe and Botswana for April 2020. The original planning and booking process was simple. Megan at Discover Africa provided a variety of options for durations and locations, and we were able to select the number of nights and the hotels that worked best for our budget and what we wanted to see/do. It was easy to add excursions such as boat tours and a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls.

When Covid derailed our trip, we were able to defer all the bookings indefinitely. In Spring of 2021, we put everything back on track for May 2021, and Megan got us set up with appointments and the information we needed to get Covid PCR tests in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Everything went off without a hitch.

Victoria Falls was extraordinary. The land transit to Botswana was complicated, but handled adroitly by the Wild Horizons drivers. We would have had a real headache figuring out those specifics without an experienced guide on the ground.

Our time in Chobe National Park was wonderful; we saw so many animals from pretty close-up! Again, the guides here were great. All of our covid results came in very quickly, and we had no worries about making our next transit to another country. Can’t recommend Discover Africa enough for getting you to and around Southern Africa.

Even in these uncertain Covid times, it’s very doable (check local conditions frequently though, as things seem to change rapidly).
