Southern Serengeti

Staying at Songa Tented Camp

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, process customs and short transit to the domestic terminal for the flight to Mwiba airstrip. Depending on your flight time, you might require a re-night in Arusha, contact us for options.

Arrive Mwiba airstrip, meet with your safari guide and private vehicle and transfer to the migration camp. The 3 nights at Songa include all your meals and selected beverages, as well as laundry. Chat to your guide to plan your days, depending on your preferences, weather and animals activity.

Vast herds of wildebeest pass just outside your tent, following a migratory path worn over millennia. Far-ranging herds of wildebeest make the iconic Great Migration travelling a never-ending circuit from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania, up northwest towards the mighty Mara River, and back again. Feel the exhilaration of being close to nature.

Southern Serengeti

Staying at Mwiba Lodge

After breakfast, transfer via a game drive to the lodge. Mwiba has wonderful view overlooking the plains and will be a luxury haven to complement your experience.

Set atop massive stone boulders, Mwiba Lodge is surrounded by ancient coral trees and acacias, overlooking a rocky gorge on the Arugusinyai River. Vast vistas stretch out before you: untamed landscapes vibrantly lush with plant life, freshwater springs and a diverse array of wildlife. The main lodge offers airy living spaces, a rejuvenating spa and gym and a curated wine cellar. An expansive pool is set on a rocky outcrop overlooking natural springs below where resident wildlife frequently comes to slake their thirst.

You will have a private vehicle and guide during your stay to customize your game viewing experience; as well as the possibility to enjoy night drives, and a cultural visit to the local tribes. Unique wildlife and endangered species are common in the area including great cat populations, amazing numbers of elephants, greater kudus and wild dogs.

End of Itinerary

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Kilimanjaro airport. Time at leisure until your own flight back home or extend your safari with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a gorilla trekking or some days at the beach.
