A Last Minute Trip To Uganda

Justin helped craft the perfect honeymoon for us! There are so many options when it comes to choosing a tour operator that I feel so fortunate we landed on Discover Africa. The experience felt seamless from start to finish. Our trip felt perfectly tailored to what we were looking for. You can tell that they truly listened to your situation and crafted the trip specifically for you. Planning an African safari can easily feel overwhelming, but Justin gave us nothing but confidence. The lodges, staff, guides, transportation, every aspect was top tier. There was constant communication from everyone on the ground to make sure you were where you needed to be on each leg of the trip. Save yourself the option overload and set up a call. No harm in getting a quote and taking it from there!

Chrizaan Troch of Discover Africa helped us organize a recent safari in Chobe National Park. She was great to deal with – listened to what we wanted, and also offered other suggestions. She was very efficient, and always replied promptly to our questions.

Discover Africa and their trip advisor Megan Warrington did a fantastic job arranging our trip to Cape Town, Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), and the Chobe River and Kwara Camp in Botswana. We originally planned this trip a few years ago, but had to cancel. Megan was able to resurrect our itinerary with a few improvements this year. The trip details they provided were very accurate and helped us in our planning (and packing). All the transfers/transportation went without a hitch. Greeters met us at each location and guided us to the appropriate next step.

All the accommodations they booked us in were top notch; better than we anticipated. In particular, they had booked us into a camp in the Okavanga delta run by the Kwando Safari company. When they Kwando company ended up closing the camp for renovations Megan made sure that Kwando upgraded our camp and we ended up at the amazing Kwara camp, their flagship location, with no additonal cost or bother for us. (That camp was amazing great wildlife, staff, food and “tents”.)

I would recommend Discover Africa and Megan to anyone planning a trip to the Southern Africa area for a safari or city visit.

I started planning my Africa safari/vacation about two years ago with the help of Diane, and was transitioned to Chrizaan about halfway through my timeline. There was zero issues with changing my guide, and both ladies were SUPER lovely to work with. I was able to see and do everything I dreamed of between Zimbabwe and South Africa, and wouldn’t have been able to do this without the team at Discover Africa. I even added an extra person a few months after booking, and was able to seamlessly integrate her into my travels.

We were able to see the Big 5, almost all of the Beautiful 5 (except a cheetah), and the Ugly 5! In addition to Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, Cape Town, Johannesburg, the wine lands of Cape Town, many white rhinos, zebra, monkeys, wild dogs, the list goes ON.

The different lodges were amazing, super well kept, and the staff, guides, and trackers were exceptional. This trip was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and having a dedicated guide who understood everything I wanted to do made the whole journey as easy as can be. Chrizaan was so easy to contact and made this truly the trip of a lifetime for me!

We have just returned from a trip to 3 different safari camps in Botswana, a short trip to Victoria Falls and a gorilla trek in Rwanda that was booked with Susan from Discover Africa. We couldn’t be happier with the direction and support she gave us to truly make it a trip of a lifetime.

Although the three camps she booked for us were geographically quite close, they were very different in the wildlife viewing experiences, with different focuses for each (we were at camp Okavango, Xakanaxa camp and Chobe Game Lodge). We saw all the animals and birds we dreamed of seeing in Africa with the exception of the rhino as conservation efforts are currently underway and they are located only in central Botswana at this time. The accommodation was incredible at all of them, the food delicious and the staff exceptional. Such lovely, welcoming people.

Rwanda was an absolute favorite and not just for the amazing gorillas. The country is lush and beautiful, the people warm and welcoming and the Bishops house hotel was incredible.

Susan coordinated all of our bookings and when one of the airlines cancelled our flight within hours of our flying, she was completely on it and got us re-booked and on our way, even arriving an hour earlier than the previously scheduled flight. We would definitely book with Susan and Discover Africa again.

Was the Safari of lifetime.

We spent one week between Zimbabwe for the Victoria Falls and Botswana. Amazing.

The river cruse in the Zambezi river is a dream. We saw also Chobe national park and the Delta of Okavango: a dream.
Everything was well organized. The transfer/The Lodge/the Game drive.

Chrizaan was super. She provide us the best organization and also assistance during the trip.
