Timbavati Safari Short and Sweet

Contacted Discover Africa when considering a possible Botswana holiday based on Safari Bookings reviews. Was not disappointed as Adelle took our initial ideas and created a perfect trip starting at Victoria Falls and then encompassing three lodges across Botswana, ending in the amazing Okavango Delta. The communication when putting together the trip was excellent and the information provided gave every detail needed to make it a smooth and stress-free holiday, which is especially important with all the transfers required. The accommodation in all the lodges was first class and the staff everywhere were so friendly and helpful.

Of course the wildlife experiences were the highlight, with Botswana providing such an amazing variation of water and land habitats. These included close-up experiences of leopards, a pride of fifteen lions, elephants swimming across the Zambezi, and large groups of hippos.

Dennis and Susan's Safari Experience

It was an amazing holiday! First time in SA, and we had 8 days to visit Kruger Park and Cape Town. Matthys was our travel expert, and he arranged our tour in a smart and super convenient way, advising the best stay & safari options within our budget. Honeyguide Mantobeni Tented Camp in the middle of Kruger Park was epic! All domestic flights, meet & greet service, and hotel booking in Cape Town were awesome!

This trip was a 20th anniversary/bucket list trip. From the time we landed in South Africa until we sadly had to depart, we were hosted like no other country we’ve visited. Our travel agent, Dianne DuPlessis from Discover Africa, was amazing. We described the trip we were looking for and the type of accommodations and she completely nailed it. All of our accommodations were perfect. We meet so many wonderful host and guests at the different lodges. The food very delicious as was the water & cocktails! 🙂

We were able to see the big 5, little 5, ugly 5, and many others. Our guides and trackers were the best at explaining the ecology of the African Savannah. We learned so much. We highly recommend Dianne and Discover Africa as well as the lodges we stayed at.

Patty's South African Safari Experience

Incredible experience! Diane Du Plessis was our consultant for two South African safaris, one at Umkumbe Bush Lodge (Sabi Sand Nature Reserve) and the other at Motswari Game Reserve (Timbavati Private Game Reserve). Transfers and in-country flights all went off without a hitch. Everywhere we stayed was beautiful and elegant, including our last four days at the Winchester in Capetown.

On safari, we got to see lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, rhinos, hippos, Impalas and more. At both reserves, we saw animals with their kills and got very close without disturbing them. Guides were great at both locations. The bungalows at Umkumbe were brand new and very comfortable. The food was particularly good at Motswari. Motswari has an early coffee and treats before you go out on safari, which is nice. Highly recommend Discover Africa!

Our Safari was for 15 days and included trips to four different camps in South Africa and Botswana with a side trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Our first stay was four nights at Sabi Sands Bush Lodge in South Africa followed by three night stays at each of the three Sanctuary Retreat camps in Botswana – Chobe Chilwero, Stanley’s and Chief’s. The game drives at each camp were absolutely amazing and very exciting, and we saw an incredible amount of wildlife in the bush (saw the “Big Five” by day 2) and on the river at Chobe, more than we ever imagined.

The guides and trackers were experts in finding the wildlife and very informative in all aspects of animals, plants and birds. They were also very fun to be with. The staff at all the camps were very friendly and helpful and made sure we were safe and comfortable. The accommodations were impeccable and gorgeous, and the food was very varied and delicious.

Our travel planner, Susan Veldman, was fabulous from the start with the planning of our Safari to keeping in touch with us daily during the whole trip. All transfers and connections to the different camps were seamless. We would HIGHLY recommend Susan and Discover Africa to anyone planning a Safari. Thank you, thank you for this most amazing trip ever!!!

Karen & Bill's Safari Experience

My wife and I spent a while doing research and talked to several groups to find the perfect balance of price, location, and luxury we were looking for on our 3 night safari as part of a honeymoon trip to South Africa.

Megan Warrington and her team understood exactly what we were looking for and found the perfect option for us (Jock Safari Lodge) that we wouldn’t have uncovered otherwise.

Not only that, but Discover Africa was so easy to deal with, very responsive any time we had questions, and provided just the right amount of communication in the lead up to our trip.

Frankly, I didn’t expect to enjoy the safari experience as much as I did. But it was incredible and now I’m trying to figure out a way to do it again. I’ll certainly be contacting Megan and Discover Africa for their guidance next time as well.
