Timbavati Safari Short and Sweet

Discover Africa Safaris made the entire experience very enjoyable. If anything went wrong Dev and his team were on it in moments. Every part of the trip was conducted by professionals from Federal airlines to the two safari lodges.

I can’t say enough about the Impodimo Lodge. The guide and tracker were excellent in both knowledge of the area and all the different animals we saw. All the meals were excellent and the staff were all so helpful and pleasant. We especially enjoyed sitting each night with our “jeep mates” for a great dinner and conversation. Sebastian, our guide would also regale us with wonderful stories. Sebastian, even ensured we made the last day morning trip because of a chance that there were cheetahs in the area. Sure enough we were able to take numerous photos of the 5 brothers and still make the flight back to Johannesburg.

Moving on to Hoyo Hoyo Safari lodge proved to be just as great. Although the meals were structured with only Trish and I at our table, the food was to die for with local dishes and wonderful desserts. Again the staff was of a caliber designated for 5 star accommodations. It also didn’t hurt when the afternoon elephant parade interrupted lunch time. I believe the only downside to our entire excursion was the return flight from Hoyo Hoyo as it was a commercial flight. That is how great of a time we had when the only thing to complain about was what every traveler complains about no matter where they are.

May I just say that if we were to make another trip I would be hesitant to use anyone other than Devryn and Discover Africa Safaris as our planner for another trip of a lifetime. Thanks to all!

We had a great week on safari and all the arrangements worked well. There was a problem with our hotel in JNB when we arrived the evening before we left on safari and Adelle Bell answered our call and fixed it quickly even though it was outside working hours.

Working with Discover Africa on our safari trip to South Africa was absolutely wonderful. We had to worry about next to nothing because they provided so much support and assistance. It was a true experience of a lifetime, and we so appreciate all of the time and effort they put into making every detail perfect.

This was a holiday of 3 attempts.

Matthys clearly extremely knowledgable, and from experience, about the areas/lodges we visited. The transfers, flights and accommodations were all top notch and nothing went by the wayside.

The trip moved seamlessly from SA, through Kruger, Zimbabwe, 3 Botswana lodges and back to Jo’burg.

Value for money?

Definitely really good quality accommodations and the safari guides were brilliant. We were never crowded into any vehicle we always had plenty of space. The food was amazing and the staff at all establishments were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Nothing was too much trouble and they went far and above than they needed too.

We loved it so much we are planning to come back in 2024 and do the garden route and some different safari experiences. Missed the Rhino but saw all the other top 4 plus 5 puppy wild dogs/5 adults and 3 leopards. Loads of lions and huge amounts of elephant, bison, water buffalo and numerous other animals.

As Annie once said “I’ll be back!”

We had a wonderful family holiday in South Africa and Botswana. Matthys at Discover Africa put a great itinerary together, everything worked like clockwork and as advertised. The accommodations, food, flights, transfers and the land and water safaris were excellent with our safari guide being very knowledgeable. Staff at the safari camps were attentive & courteous. Our visit to Camp Moremi exceeded expectations and we viewed four of the big five ( no rhino, but we knew this in advance) plus many other animals. The internal flights with Safari Air were an adventure in their own right – especially the Cessna Van. Pilots were professional and helpful. Thank you for making this a memorable holiday.

The whole experience was excellent with a very efficient booking system and the airport pick-up was right on time.

The accommodation was very comfortable and the lodge was top class.

The food was a very high standard and the staff were extremely helpful. The morning and evening game drives were very informative and we saw everything that I expected to see over the 2 days.
