Arrive at Lusaka airport on time for the scheduled charter flight to Busanga Plains. Depending on your time of arrival, you might require a pre-night in Lusaka, contact us for some options. On arrival in Busanga, meet with your safari guide and transfer to Chisa Camp via a meandering game drive.

Welcome to paradise, with your own bird nest! your stay includes all your meals, selected beverages and shared morning & afternoon game drive. To stretch your legs, you can also hop on an e-bike for a guided trail.

Red lechwe leaping across shallow wetlands, lions hunting in golden grasses, and elephants emerging out of morning mist – this is the Busanga Plains experience. Found in the northern region of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, this remote wilderness is distinct from the miombo woodlands of the park. Instead, flat grassland dambos are dotted with date palms and sausage and fig trees. As the flood waters recede over June to November, the Busanga Plains become accessible for safaris characterised by outstanding game-viewing, predator action and colourful birdlife.

Cool off in the pool during the hottest parts of the day and look out for an elephant or puku that just may be passing by.

Say your good-byes to the bush, transfer to the airstrip on time for your scheduled charter flight to Livingstone (might go via Lusaka depending on schedule).

Arrive at Livingstone airport and road transfer to the lodge. Livingstone Island sits at the heart of the Victoria Falls. One of Africa’s most iconic natural and cultural heritage sites, this island also has a fascinating history.

Spend the next couple of days relaxing in this wonderful forest and water environment, and experience some included excursions (1 Livingsotne island tour, visit Tongabezi trust school, guided tour of Simoonga Village, sunsire/sunset cruise, picnic lunch on private island, guided tour of the Falls on the Zambian side - park fees to be settled directly); or book optional activities. Chat to the camp manager on arrival to schedule your days.

Chisa Busanga Camp

Vincent, the founder of Green Safaris, and his close friend Bert Meerstadt, a Dutch architect, were exploring the island in the Busanga Plains where the camp would be located when they began designing the Chisa Busanga Camp. They were walking together when they both turned to look up at a stunning bird’s nest. They both realized the design of this new camp would be nests in an instant and without speaking.

They wanted to in some way mimic the clever dwellings that weavers’ nests construct, but obviously on a greater scale for people. The objective was to provide distinctive and intriguing lodging as well as lovely areas where visitors might ponder the wonder and inventiveness of nature. However, they would soon be made aware of the fact that nature had millions of years to perfect her creations. They had no prior experience making nests at this point.
