On your arrival at Windhoek airport, transit to the domestic terminal on time for the scheduled flight to the Keerweerder airstrip. Depending on your time on arrival, you might need a pre-night in Windhoek, chat to us for possible options.

Arrive Keerweerder where you are met by the lodge's representative and transfer to the lodge, Desert Homestead Lodge is you home for the next 3 nights.

We have included in your stay: 1x full day guided tour to Sossuvlei, 1x sunset drive and 1x sunset ride. Chat to the camp manager and the safari guide to set up your days activities and enjoy wonderful meals at the camp, under the magnificent sky dotted of millions of stars.

Set against a magnificent backdrop of rugged mountains, imposing sand dunes and sweeping grassy plains, Desert Homestead Lodge blends perfectly into its imposing natural setting. Thatched chalets with cream linens and colonial-style dark wood furniture offer a cool oasis with an old world charm.

Comfortable and airy, the open-plan guest areas contain a spacious lounge, cosy library, welcoming bar and imposing dining room where a roaring fireplace keeps the desert chill at bay after dark. A deep wrap-around veranda is set into the rugged rocky outcrop on which the lodge is situated and offers endless desert panoramas. Laid out below the veranda is a sparkling swimming pool shaded by a rustic deck. Take this time to relax, embrace the silence of the desert and disconnect from the stress of daily life.

The days are filled with delicious meals at the lodge, some scheduled shared activities, and time to cool down at the pool, read a book and stare at the magnificent desert landscape. The night sky is filled with millions of stars.

Sossusvlei excursion: the guided tour takes about six hours and include a visit to Sossussvlei, Dead Vlei and the possibility to climb a mighty dune called Big Daddy. You will depart Desert Homestead Lodge with an early breakfast. The drive is done in a closed body 4×4 vehicles to negotiate the challenging sandy sections in Namib-Naukluft National Park.You will arrive at Sossusvlei before sunrise. Your guide will tell you many fascinating details about the desert and its inhabitants. An unforgettable experience will be the red dunes of the Namib Sand Sea, a World Heritage Site. Back at the lodge to relax.

Sunset drive: depart with your guide who will point out some interesting nature fact along the way. You will stop at one of the most beautiful spots for a sundowner and watch the sunset before getting back to the lodge in time for dinner.

Sunset ride: leaving the stables and lodge behind, you will set off on an unforgettable journey through wide open plains riding over a varied terrain changing from soft, sandy, stretched open fields, to rockier mountain trails, through dry riverbeds. This ride is open to all levels of riders, and allows for a wonderful experience.

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip on time for the scheduled flight to Swakopmund

On arrival at the airport, transfer to the guest house, located in town. You are at leisure in Swakopmund, or we can add an optional day trip to Walvis Bay with a cruise to see the pelicans and flamingoes; or some 4x4 in the dunes, if you prefer.

The town of Swakopmund retains a strong German flavour; from its cobbled streets and picturesque buildings to typical German restaurants and pubs. it is a great spot for relaxing after a few days in the desert; wash off the sand and sample renowned Swakopmund fare such as the utterly delicious Swakopmund oysters.

Morning at leisure before the transfer to Swakopmund airport on time for the scheduled flight to Twyfelfontein. On arrival you are transferred to the lodge and spend the afternoon at leisure to relax and appreciate the beautiful environment.

Nestled in rolling boulders of a granite outcrop, Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp is within walking distance of the Damara Living Museum, within the Huab River Valley. A visit to the museum offers a fascinating look into the people, heritage, pulse and soul of Damaraland.

Today enjoy the scheduled shared excursion in search of the desert adapted animals.

You depart in an open off road vehicle with a local guide, travel through the dry river bed in search of the desert-adapted elephants. The guide will share the history of the conservation of this small number of animals, that require to be protected from poaching. There is little disturbance to the animals while they go about their rhythm of life. The animals are valued by the Damaras living in the area, and it is a balance to share the drinking places for their small herds of goats with the elephants. It is an interesting day out, and you will get back to camp on time to cool in the pool and relax before dinner.

Morning at leisure before the transfer to the airstrip on time for the scheduled flight to Ongava, near Etosha.

You are met at the airstrip by the safari guide and transfer to the lodge, via a meandering drive. Chat to the camp manager to scheduled your activities during your stay, with scheduled shared game drives, walks, night drive, a visit to the research center included in your stay.

On the southern shoulder of the Etosha National Park, Ongava Private Game Reserve occupies 30,000 hectares — more than 74,000 acres — of pristine Namibian bushland. Rhino were the first species to be relocated to this wilderness when it was transformed from unproductive farmland. The reserve is now home to a diversity of animals, such as lion, leopard, elephant and the plains game.

Back at the lodge, you can relax in your thatched chalet, cool down at the pool, visit the hide for some amazing photography moments, and enjoy a sundowner looking over the waterhole.

Enjoy a last game drive and a leisurely breakfast at camp.
