On arrival at Blantyre International Airport, meet with your guide and transfer to the lodge. The drive to Mkulumadzi is approximately 2.5hours through colorful local scenes driving though local villages.

The lodge is located on the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi River; within Majete Wildlife Reserve. This Big 5 Reserve is one of the largest protected areas in the country covering an area of over 70,000ha. The reserve is located within the Miombo woodland ecoregion and much of the higher lying areas in the west of the park are dominated by woodlands.

Relax at the lodge and you might have time for a first game viewing opportunity, depending on your arrival time.

Mkulumadzi Lodge is the perfect starting point for a range of activities including expert walking and game drives, as well as boat-trips to the nearby lake just above the Kapichira Falls. Your guide will assist in organizing your days as you prefer.

You can relax in your chalet, with spacious living quarters and private viewing deck; have a swim in the pool, and you will dine under the stars.

Majete Wildlife Reserve is home to the elusive black rhino, along with elephant, buffalo, nyala, sable, eland and hartebeest, while lion, and leopard have successfully been re-introduced.

After breakfast you will take the road to Huntingdon House, on the slopes of the Thyolo Mountain. Huntingdon House is situated on the Satemwa Tea Estate; literally stepping back in time. Explore the surrounding area; tour of the tea factory, or simply enjoy the day, taking in the fresh air.

Today you have an opportunity to explore the stunning Mount Mulanje Massif, which rises 2,380m above sea level. A highlight during the hike is to spend some time at Chambe and Dziwe Lankhalamba waterfall. Swimming at the waterfall is something one cannot miss!

You then head back down to reach your vehicle and drive back to Huntingdon for a well deserved leisurely evening.

After breakfast, you depart for your next stop, Kuthengo Camp. The drive to Liwonde takes about 4 to 5 hours.

Liwonde National Park is one of the top birding locations in Southern Africa. The park offers some of the most scenic game viewing, beautiful riverine surroundings and varied bird watching.

You will have time to experience a boat safari on the Shire River, and watch the many elephants coming to drink. Arrive at camp on time for an evening game drive and relax at camp with a delicious diner.

Spend time at the lodge and in the park, explore the Shire River and lagoons, game viewing elephant, hippo, crocodile and bird life, such as the Lillian’s lovebird, the brown breasted barbet, not forgetting the Pel's fishing owl. You can also spend some time at the viewing hide for amazing photography opportunities, and your guide can arrange a visit to a local rural community.

After breakfast, you are transferred by road to the Nankumba Peninsula of Lake Malawi. This is recognised as one of the most beautiful shores of the Lake and borders Lake Malawi National Park. This Park was established to protect the cichlid fish unique to the area. In 1984 the park was designated a World Heritage Site.

The lodge's architecture and layout take full advantage of its stunning natural surroundings, providing panoramic views of the lake. Pumulani Lake Lodge is the perfect place to spend a few days in total relaxation after a Zambia safari. An infinity pool offers breathtaking views of the lakeshore, and the lodge's private beach is a haven of white sand lapped by clear blue waters.

You can explore the clear waters of the lake by snorkeling or diving, discovering the vibrant underwater world. A sunset cruise provides a romantic and picturesque way to end the day, while thrill-seekers can enjoy wakeboarding or fun tubing for an exhilarating experience.

Enjoy breakfast and pack your suitcases for the last time as you are being transferred to Lilongwe for your onward flight. The tour ends at the airport.
