Affordable Cape Town, Kruger Safari and Victoria Falls journey

We initially felt quite overwhelmed by the number of different tours, lodges and options available when planning an African adventure, so we decided to speak with Discover Africa to help us create a memorable trip. We are so glad we did!

Chrizaan took the time to listen to what we wanted from our trip and then put together an incredible itinerary that gave us a real taste of Africa and some experiences we will never forget. From the different safari lodges and game drives to Victoria Falls, the trip offered such a wonderful variety of experiences. Some were absolute highlights and created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime.

Everything from the flights and transfers to the accommodation and activities was organised so efficiently. For someone who experiences a lot of anxiety when travelling, having everything organised and knowing there was someone who knew our itinerary and could help if needed was incredibly comforting.

Of course, with a trip this big and complicated, we did encounter a few hiccups along the way. What made such a difference was knowing that Chrizaan was only a quick phone call away. She was always helpful, responsive and quick to assist in resolving anything that came up, which gave us great peace of mind while we were travelling.

We would absolutely recommend Discover Africa to anyone wanting to organise a trip to Africa, and particularly Chrizaan. She took our ideas, hopes and vision for the trip and turned them into an incredible reality.

I was enthusiastic to contact Discover Africa for designing a custom tour across Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia because of the numerous positive reviews. Certainly, they excelled in offering me a truly well-made Itinerary! So this will be yet another glowing review for Discover Africa.

Vihann was my point-of-contact and designed my tour, listened to all my needs and patiently adjusted things as I asked for. In any case what was offered in terms of the lodges (I went to luxury end) were already unquestionably good and exciting. It seems Discover Africa understands the needs of the clients well, as far my experience goes. The entire itinerary was outstanding and on-ground experience exactly reflected what was promised!!

On the whole, it was truly a smooth experience without worries. Everything was organized from point-to-point and everyone made sure, I was transitioned between activities, flights, countries, lodges safely, so it goes without saying that using them was a good value for money.

I had an idea about what I wanted to do and see. Discover Africa met my ideas with different suggestions and refined my trip until it was exactly what I was looking for.

Wanting to add additional experiences to an underlying South Africa trip for a friend’s wedding, we worked with Adelle initially to review options. Her experience and knowledge was evident from the beginning as she provided several different options based on the price range we provided. As we settled on an initial itinerary, the pandemic arrived and we had to delay everything. Adelle adeptly handled all adjustments, delays, cancellations, and rebookings over the next 2 years.

Finally able to travel, we were provided well in advance very useful, detailed, and pertinent information about our accommodations, locations, preparatory considerations (e.g., vaccines, in-country customs, tipping, etc.), and itinerary. Our trip included personally-arranged stops within agent-arranged trip and Adelle expertly arranged for all pick-up and shuttle services so we only needed to take care of getting on and off the planes for each leg of our trip.

Our all-inclusive safari lodges were described as “luxury,” but we had no idea…until we arrived. One of them has become our favorite, though both are easily classified as luxury. Each lodge had its own approach and atmosphere, but both provided great meals and services. Our favorite had more-than-welcoming staff, continually-customized meals to meet dietary needs, special touches for meal locations and room service, a air of romance hidden through many small and large acts by the staff, and game drives and bush walks, which all combined to give us experiences over the several days we were there that we couldn’t even have imagined–even after reading all the information ahead of time.

Simply put, we have found our travel agent for southern Africa, will be coming back in the future, and will not hesitate to trust Adelle’s thoughts and planning on any future trip.

Diane couldn’t have been more helpful when planning our trip, coming up with different ideas and itineraries to fit my budget and expectations. Communication was excellent. The transfers, flights and accommodation suited our needs.

The day trip from Cape Town down to the Cape of Good hope was a highlight. Every turn was another breathtaking view. We stopped to see penguins, took a boat out to an island hopping with seals, and even biked past a family of baboons. All in one day!

Other memories like driving a left-handed stick for the first time along the windy cliffs of the cape; getting lost in the vineyards with my fiancé; and sipping wine on the deck of a local bar with my fellow travellers and new local friends.
