Nestled among ancient riverine trees, The Wallow is the newest eco-friendly lodge from Wild Horizons. With three decades of experience in the safari industry, The Wallow Lodge is a testament to our commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism.

As part of the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, The Wallow Lodge is situated in a private concession within the Victoria Falls National Park. Our dedication to eco-friendly practices can be seen throughout the lodge, from our solar-powered water heating system to our use of locally-sourced and sustainable materials.

The lodge boasts panoramic views of the Masuwe River, providing a stunning backdrop for our main area, complete with a swimming pool and sunken fireplace on the expansive deck. A short twenty-minute transfer from the camp brings you to the iconic Victoria Falls, where you can experience the thrill of Africa's Adventure Capital.

Standard Suite

Enchanting and intimate, the sixteen suites are ideally situated to overlook the Masuwe River and surrounding wilderness. The imaginative use of canvas preserves the romance of yesteryear with a classic safari atmosphere, accentuated with all the modern creature comforts. Each room is set on an elevated deck and from this raised vantage point, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the river from their private balcony. The décor is simple yet elegant with wooden furnishings and potted plants. There is a touch of ‘bush bohemia’ in the vibrant ‘chitenge’ cushion covers, and the rooms offer an air-conditioner and twin fans, a personal tea/coffee station, a cosy lounge area as well as an indoor and an outdoor shower.

Guided Tour of the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls waterfall, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

On your guided walking tour of the falls, you will have the opportunity to discover the many facets of the magnificent Victoria Falls. Explore the rainforest while learning about the history of the Falls, its geological significance and its flora and fauna. You'll have the opportunity to soak up the beautiful vistas, lush surroundings, magical waterfalls, and the spray of the Falls.

Visit the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust

The Wallow Lodge is surrounded by natural beauty, and we focus on creating a space where guests can form a relationship with and learn about the environment they are in. We do this through our partnership with The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located in the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary adjacent to the lodge. The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, a non-profit entity and dedicated vehicle for promoting conservation awareness, education, and community empowerment.

A tour of the Trust is part of our guest experience. Guests will visit the High-Care Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre and Laboratory facilities to learn about innovative conservation initiatives from a team of passionate research and wildlife experts.

Game Drive Followed By Cocktails & Canapés at the Batoka Gorge

Game drives are a quintessential safari experience, and with over 4500 acres of traversing wilderness, no two game drives are ever the same. Professional, passionate and knowledgeable safari guides lead the game drives. The freedom of structure creates a continuous adventure, and the journey follows the calls and contours of the landscape.

After the game drive, guests will enjoy a selection of cocktails and canapes on the rim of the Batoka Gorge, where the Zambezi Rapids rage 120 meters below. This hidden gem is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner.
