Is the A&K Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Lodge for Me?
Having recently reopened in June 2025 following a full redesign, Gorilla Forest Lodge comprises 10 standalone villas beautifully and eco-consciously crafted to sit in harmony with Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Each villa opens onto a private viewing deck with sweeping views over the jungle canopy, while the lodge’s shared spaces feature an inviting indoor-outdoor lounge, bar, and restaurant. You can also unwind at the spa, browse the boutique for locally crafted souvenirs, or spend time in the Explorers Lounge, a cosy spot filled with books and maps about Bwindi’s rich flora, fauna, and culture.
Rangers are highly experienced, working hard to ensure sightings of gorillas on every trek. The lodge is so well situated that gorillas have even been known to visit the property itself.
Your experiences stretch beyond gorilla trekking. Other offerings include guided forest walks, birding walks among over 350 bird species, immersive visits with the indigenous Batwa people, and interaction with local cultural and community projects.
