Staying at Ol Donyo Lodge

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta airport, you are met and transferred to Wilson airport. Depending on your arrival time, you may require a pre might in Nairobi, contact us for options. Fly to Amboseli, where you are met at the airstrip and transferred to the lodge.

Ol Donyo Lodge is a pioneer amongst safari lodges, and a forerunner of sustainable tourism: by working with the local Maasai people, it has been able to blend conservation and livelihood benefits. Located on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, this lodge blends contemporary and traditional design. The lodge enjoys a stunning location, with a view over the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro and the savannah, stretching as far as the eye can see.

Staying at Ol Donyo Lodge

Your stay includes a diversity of activities, such as game viewing on horseback, four-wheel drive, on a bicycle, on foot or in a hide twenty paces from some of the largest elephants in the world. The ol Donyo stables boast an impressive range of breeds, including Friesian and Shire crosses, Arabian breeds and the South African Boerperd.

Back at camp, you can relax in your suite, with plunge pool, as well as a rooftop terrace where an elegant star bed can be set up to sleep beneath the glittering night sky.

True to the Relais & Chateaux experience, you will dine on tantalizing meals, accompanied by an extensive wine list and served in the elegant dining area.

Day 5

Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Staying at Mara Plains Camp

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to the Masai Mara - via Wilson. On arrival, you are met by your safari guide and transferred into camp. Arrive on time for a late lunch and relax before the afternoon game drive.

The charming Mara Plains Camp is situated on a bend of the Ntiakitiak River in a private conservancy bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will access the camp via a wooden footbridge over a river.

The stylish guest area opens out onto views of the endless savannah, where you will enjoy delicious meals, as part of the Relais & Chateaux tradition. Your stay at Mara Plains is set around the game viewing and relaxing in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and away from the safari vehicles that sometimes form crowds in the Mara.

Day 6-8

Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Staying at Mara Plains Camp

You will experience morning and late afternoon / evening game drives and explore the private conservancy, continuing after dark for a chance to spot Africa’s mighty predators in action. The location of the camp allows to access about 40,000 hectares of private conservancy land and the world-renowned Maasai Mara, home to the Great Migration.

The camp is a sanctuary for resident wildlife species, including many of the Maasai Mara’s 300 bird species. After dark, larger mammals frequent the camp, and Maasai staff will escort you to and from your room. Hippos snorting and leopards barking often provide the night’s chorus.

To complement your stay, you will have a set of professional cameras and lenses available to use. Add to it the pair of high-quality binoculars, and it is impossible not to see and capture the region’s incredible wildlife scenes.

Day 9

End of Itinerary

Your last morning in the bush, breakfast at camp and transfer to the airstrip on time for the flight to Wilson airport. On arrival, road transfer to Jomo Kenyatta and time at leisure until your flight out. Alternatively we can add a day excursion in Nairobi, or extend your safari with a gorilla trekking or a few days at the beach.
