Day 1-3

MalaMala Game Reserve

Staying at Mala Mala Camp

Start your safari with a scheduled flight from Johannesburg OR Tambo to Skukuza, in the Kruger National Park. On arrival you are met by the Mala Mala representative, for the road transfer into camp. Check in and relax before the afternoon game drive. Your 3 night stay includes all your meals, selected beverages and the 2 scheduled game drives per day. Chat to your ranger should you wish to experience a walk in the bush.

While an itinerary is suggested to take advantage of the more comfortable temperature ranges and the enhanced game-viewing opportunities, it is also important to take time to relax and enjoy the camp surroundings, and to immerse oneself in the environment.

Comprising 13 200 ha (33 000 acres), MalaMala shares a 19 km (12 mile) unfenced boundary with the world-famous Kruger National Park (KNP) and lies strategically sandwiched between the KNP and the Sabi Sand Reserve. Importantly, MalaMala has 20 kms (13 miles) of Sand River frontage. This perennial river acts as a magnet for animals in this pristine wildlife area and is the foundation of MalaMala’s unrivalled game viewing and wildlife experience.

Johannesburg

Staying at African Rock Hotel & Spa

After breakfast, transfer to Skukuza airport for the return flight to Johannesburg. Shuttle transfer to the hotel, balance of the day at leisure and dinner included at the hotel.

Day 5-6

Okavango Delta

Staying at 4 Rivers

Transfer back to the airport for the flight to Maun, Botswana. Meet with the local representative and hop on the scheduled charter flight to the Delta and 4 Rivers Camp.

Located in the Okavango Delta, 4 Rivers is a new camp enjoying exclusive use of the western side of the renowned Kwara Private Concession. In days gone by, explorers whispered of these fabled floodplains, which teem with plains game - and the predators that stalk them. This is an isolated wilderness with stunning biodiversity, a confluence of waterways, open plains, forested islands, and Mopane woodlands home to African wild dogs, lions, elephants, leopards, sable antelope and more.

A wide variety of activities, including game drives, night drives, walking and seasonal mokoro trips, are all on offer from a camp that harks back to a traditional old-world safari ethos while remaining exclusive.

Day 7-8

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Staying at Tau Pan

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip and fly to the South of the country and the Central Kalahari. Arrive at the airstrip and road transfer to the lodge.

Tau Pan is the first semi-permanent camp inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers truly incredible views from the elevated ridge of an ancient sand dune, an unusual experience in a land as flat as Botswana, and overlooks the famous Tau Pan - recognised for its stark beauty and remoteness.

Activities offered at Tau Pan are game drives, day trips to the well-known Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, star gazing, and nature walks with Bushman trackers.

‘Tau’ which means lion in Setswana, is so named for the pride of iconic black-maned Kalahari lions who frequent the camp . Species that can be found in the Kalahari include oryx, the desert-adapted springbok, jackals, the rare brown hyena, red-crested Korhaan and herds of wildebeest.

End Of Itinerary

Enjoy your last breakfast in the bush and transfer to the airstrip on time for the scheduled charter flight to Maun. Time at leisure until your own flight out back home, or contact us to extend your safari.
