This Botswana Safari combination includes a stay in the Makgadikgadi and the Khwai Conservation in the north of the Okavango Delta. You will experience a variation of activities, including horse riding in the desert (all levels welcome), game viewing, and meeting the local communities, and you will have a chance to experience a morning “Predator Patrol and Ranger Experience”.
This safari is not only a discovery of Botswana’s natural habitats but also a “giving back” initiative as $50 per person is donated to the Khwai Village Outreach program.
Arrive at Maun airport and meet with the local representative for the scheduled charter flight to Camp Kalahari. This will be your base for the next 3 nights, including all your meals, selected beverages and scheduled activities. We have also added a wonderful horse-riding experience into the desert plains.
Set amongst the waving palms and acacia trees of Brown Hyena Island, the camp consists of 12 funky Meru tents that are an ideal base for discovering the charms of the desert and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, a landscape that’s as surreal as it is sublime, and as mysterious as it is magical.
Chat to your guide to plan your days with the activities: horseback riding, bushman walks and traditional game drives. Back at camp, you will enjoy delicious food, lazy siestas in the swimming pool pavilion and, in the dry season, you can watch the elephants come to drink.

Last morning in the desert, breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the airstrip for the flight to the north of the Okavango Delta and the Khwai Private reserve. You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Little Sable Camp, your home away from home for the next 3 nights.
This intimate, tented Khwai safari camp is located amid the shimmering grasslands of the Khwai Private Reserve, one of the best-managed private concessions in the greater Okavango Delta. The wildlife viewing is fantastic all year long, and there are different activities to enjoy, from classic game drives to mokoro trips and boat safaris (water dependent).
Plus we have added a predator identification and ranger tracking experience: this engaging experience will get you heading out with the rangers before dawn to track fresh spoor. You can help the rangers as they identify and capture data, logging each of the sighting. You’ll spend 4-6 hours doing this, as well as patrolling the area and checking on conservation projects en- route, depending on time.
Added to your safari is also a $50 per person as a donation to the Khwai Village Outreach: projects range from feeding local school children, looking after the elderly, assisting with ranger training for example.Chat to your guide to plan a visit to the village in between your game viewing activities.
