We are seeking an experienced, multi-channel content writer and editor to join our dynamic digital marketing team. The candidate will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging travel content for our website, blog, email campaigns and social media channels.
The role involves collaborating withnand (in some instances) managing cross-functional teams (including external freelance/contracted resource) to develop content that aligns with our brand voice, meets and contributes to SEO objectives and resonates with our target audience. The perfect candidate will hold extensive travel writing experience and has a true passion for travel, specifically on our beautiful continent.
Your platform portfolio will include: Research, UX, Search, Community, Social, Email, PR & Communications, Brand, CX, Blog and Front-End Web.

- Content Creation:
- Develop high-quality, creative and engaging content for the company’s website, blog and other digital platforms.
- Ensure content is aligned with brand messaging and marketing objectives.
- Conduct thorough research to produce accurate and informative content.
- Blog Management:
- Plan, create and manage blog content calendar.
- Write and edit blog posts on industry trends, company updates, and relevant topics.
- Implement SEO best practices to optimise blog content for search engines.
- UX Writing:
- Generate clear and concise microcopy for user interfaces, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to create CTAs that align with the user journey and encourage desired user interactions.
- Establish compelling headings and subheadings that contribute to the overall user experience, guiding users through content and enhancing readability.
- Keyword Strategy:
- Collaborate with the SEO team to integrate targeted keywords into content.
- Stay updated on industry trends and search engine algorithms to inform keyword strategy.
- Conduct keyword research to identify opportunities for content optimisation.
- Email Campaigns:
- Develop engaging content for email campaigns, newsletters and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective email messaging that drives engagement and conversions.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style and messaging across all email communications.
- Social Media Creation:
- Create and curate content for social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Assist in the development of the social media content calendar and paid content.
- Monitor social media trends and engagement metrics to adjust content strategy.
- Editing and Proofreading:
- Edit and proofread content for grammar, style and consistency.
- Direct, collaborate, curate and take ownership of all written content created by internal and external (freelance writers) resources to ensure a unified and polished brand voice.
- Collaboration, Management and Communication:
- Work closely with SEOs, designers, developers, social media managers and other stakeholders to align content with overall marketing strategy.
- Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Brief, manage and take responsibility for other writing resource.
- Analytics and Optimization:
- Use analytics tools to measure the performance of content and campaigns.
- Assessment, editing and management of AI content and generation tools.
- Make data-driven recommendations for content optimization and improvement.
- Qualification & Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Demonstrated history of impactful content writing
- Demonstrated history of copy-checking/editing others’ writing
- 3+ years’ experience as Junior Copywriter
- 5+ years’ as Copywriter / Copy Editor
- 3+ years’ in a B2C online environment (travel, retail, service, etc)
- 7+ years’ experience in various digital channels
- Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and experience in incorporating keywords into content.
- Experience creating and managing content for various digital channels, including web content, blogs, email campaigns and social media.
- Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creativity and a passion for staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Ability to provide guidance, support, and mentorship
