A private wildlife sanctuary situate in Northern Botswana, the 320,000 acre Selinda Game Reserve is home to a huge diversity of wildlife, most notably it’s large elephant herds, as well as antelope, zebra, cheetah, wild dog and lion. Just before we passed the Spillway we saw an elephant herd on the other side. The guide said they were going to cross and we had just a bit of time to watch. How amazing to see these epic animals crossing this huge expanse of water. To our amazement they passed right in front of us and stopped. We remember that this was the same herd we saw on our first day in Selinda. We like to think that maybe they'd come to say goodbye. We have been supremely lucky and seen Selinda's unique Watchwe. Never heard of a Watchwe? We're not surprised. He's a highly unusual hybrid – the result of a dalliance between a red lechwe and a waterbuck.
