Wilderness Abu Camp is set in a pristine riverine forest and blends in seamlessly with the magnificent surrounding hardwood trees. Looking out over a large lagoon, an imaginative use of canvas has created a unique and luxurious style of tent. Each of the six en-suite tents has its own distinctive furnishings and fittings, imparting an air of opulence in the bush, featuring an indoor and outdoor shower, an outdoor copper bath, and a private plunge pool sunken into the elevated teak deck. The multi-decked lounge and dining area, well-stocked library, gym and pool in the main area will keep you entertained, informed and energised while at Wilderness Abu Camp.
Game drives, guided nature walks, mokoro excursions and boating reveal the many wonders of this wildlife-rich area. The team delight in creating unique moments for guests, with sumptuous meals enjoyed in the bush, dining on tapas, to idyllic sundowner spots, or sharing stories around the camp fire, and movie nights under the starry skies.
INSIDER’S TIP: The Abu Private Reserve is one of the largest exclusive protected areas in the Okavango Delta. A richly diverse area with a remarkable mosaic of habitats, abundance of wildlife, and iconic Delta landscapes of palm-studded islands and grassy floodplains, seasonally inundated with pure, crystal-clear water descending from the Angolan highlands.
