Classic Botswana Family Safari

Start your safari in Maun airport on time for the scheduled charter flight (non private) to the camp. During the safari, you will have a private vehicle for your family during the game viewing, all transfers are done on group scheduled as per the camps. Spend 2 nights at Leroo La tau, including all your meals, selected beverages and game viewing activities. Leroo La Tau is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River, which forms the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The Boteti River provides a lifeline for the wildlife which inhabit the arid national park and is a critical link in the annual zebra migration. Leroo La Tau is the perfect base from which to explore this truly unique piece of Botswana paradise.

Transfer to the airstrip on time for the scheduled group charter flight to the Okavango Delta. Xugana Lagoon is widely recognised as the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which itself is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola yet never reaches the sea; instead its immense waters empty over the sands of the Kalahari, where the great thirst of the desert is quenched in a wilderness of freshwater lagoons, channels and islands. Your 2 nights stay at the lodge includes your meals, selected beverages and game viewing activities.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the short hop to the Moremi Game Reserve. The ancient riverine forests, open savannah, serpentine channels and seasonal floodplains that surround the camp make for a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora. Spend 2 nights at Camp Xakanaxa, one of few offering a year-round land and water game-viewing experience, in open 4×4 safari vehicles or powerboats. The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of Elephant, Buffalo, Hyena, Giraffe, Hippo, Wildebeest, Kudu, Lechwe, Lion and Leopard, among many others. Birding is spectacular, especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding.

This morning you will fly to nearby Savute region, part of the Chobe National park area. Activities are organised around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4×4 safari vehicles. Many trips will incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh to give you a chance to see the historic presence of the Savute Channel at the marsh against a backdrop of teeming wildlife. Spend some time at the lodge on the main deck overlooking the Savute Channel, ideal for enjoying the varied wildlife which frequents the channel and waterhole in front of the lodge. A sunken bench in front of the deck allows for low angle photography of the wildlife at the waterhole.

Last day of your safari. Enjoy breakfast and pack up on time for the road transfer to Kasane airport on time for your onward flight.
