Get to Know Sea Point
It’s densely populated and it’s constantly buzzing, but the fact that Sea Point stretches along the Atlantic Ocean gives it its charm.
Sea Point is unlike the other suburbs surrounding the city centre in that its high rises stand one beside the other and are all fronted by a long and winding promenade. This is one of the most densely populated areas in the city, served by a myriad cafes, restaurants and bars that have been tucked underneath the apartment blocks, flowing out onto the street.
The promenade itself is a paved walkway for pedestrians, joggers and cyclists that runs all the way from Bantry Bay to Mouille Point – that’s the whole of Sea Point’s beachfront. However, you’ll also find mini golf and a range of public parks and playgrounds for kids. The public swimming pools overlook the Atlantic and include an Olympic-sized pool and a diving pool filled with chlorinated seawater.
