Kwazulu Natal Beach and Bush Honeymoon

Arrive in the morning at Durban International Airport, where you are met and transferred by road to Thonga Beach Lodge. The transfer takes about 5 hours, you will travel along the coast. Should you arrive late, we can organize a pre-night stay in Durban, or you can choose to fly with a private charter at Thonga airstrip (additional cost). Arrive at Thonga, your romantic getaway for the next 4 nights.

Discover one of the most pristine wilderness beach on the azure shores of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), with blazing corals and freshwater lakes. Chat to the lodge manager to set up your days. There are daily guided activities included (walks and snorkeling), or you can book some dives or turtle safari in season (additional price). Walk barefoot on finely crushed white beach sand and slide into warm turquoise Indian Ocean waters.

You will have the opportunity to explore Mabibi beach, with a World Heritage site protected ocean on one side and a canopied forest of ancient milkwoods on her other. You will also have time to relax completely, either at one of the pools, in a hammock, lazing in the lounge on the deck overlooking the ocean. Included in your stay: a private dinner set up on the beach.

On your last day at Thonga, have breakfast and depart by road. Transfer to Phinda Game Reserve where you will spend 3 nights at Forest Lodge. Your stay includes all your meals, selected beverages and 2 game drives per day. Your honeymoon offer is included with 50% discount for 1 partner.

Encompassing an impressive 29 866 ha (73 800 acres) of protected wildlife land in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Phinda Private Game Reserve showcases one of the continent’s finest game viewing experiences, and is home to Africa’s Big Five, as well as 436 bird species. Back at the lodge, your charming suite is built not far from a swampy marsh which turns into a popular waterhole during the rainy season, and a diversity of wildlife is regularly seen and birdlife flourishes.

Phinda is home to an extended variety of wildlife, and is known for its large population of cheetah and black rhino. The sand forest is home to the shy suni and the rare red duiker, two tiny antelope that are seldom encountered elsewhere. Limited number of vehicles at sightings and sensitive off-roading practices affords close-up sightings of Big Five wildlife.

Your last morning in the bush, after breakfast you are transferred by road back to Durban International airport. It takes about 4 hours, we recommend that your flight departs late afternoon. It is also possible to fly from Phinda to Durban (additional cost).
