Majete Wildlife Reserve

Your journey begins in Blantyre, where you’re met and driven south through Malawi’s countryside to Mkulumadzi Lodge, tucked beneath giant leadwood trees at the confluence of two rivers in Majete Wildlife Reserve.

Arrive in time to settle into your riverside chalet and soak in the sounds of the bush. Majete is Malawi’s conservation success story, home to the Big Five and other diverse wildlife. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive or relax on your private deck overlooking the river.

Day 2-3

Majete Wildlife Reserve

Staying at Robin Pope Camps: Mkulumadzi Lodge

Spend two full days exploring this vast and peaceful reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives offer a chance to spot elephants, lions, sable antelope, and perhaps a leopard hidden in the thickets. Boat safaris along the Shire River offer a different perspective, with hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife all around.

Mkulumadzi’s remote setting and just eight chalets mean personalized service and a deep connection to nature. Evenings are spent around the campfire under starlit skies, listening to the sounds of the African night.

Day 4

Liwonde National Park

Staying at Mvuu Lodge

After breakfast, transfer to the nearby airstrip for a scenic flight north to Liwonde National Park. From the airstrip, a short drive brings you to Mvuu Lodge, set along the Shire River’s edge in a shady grove of baobabs and mahogany trees.

Enjoy a relaxed lunch on the deck before heading out on an afternoon river safari or game drive. Liwonde is known for its large elephant herds, black rhino population, and superb birdlife.

Day 5-6

Liwonde National Park

Staying at Mvuu Lodge

Explore Liwonde by vehicle, boat, and on foot. Mvuu’s guides are known for their knowledge and passion, making every activity a rich and rewarding experience. Watch elephants bathing from your boat, track lions on morning drives, or opt for a gentle bush walk to learn about the smaller wonders of the park.

The lodge blends safari comfort with a warm, authentic atmosphere. With only a handful of chalets and a riverside setting, it’s a tranquil place to connect with Malawi’s wilderness.

Lake Malawi

Staying at Robin Pope Camps: Pumulani Lodge

After a final breakfast at Mvuu, travel by road and boat across the southern tip of Lake Malawi to Pumulani Lodge, nestled on the lush hills of the Nankumba Peninsula. Overlooking the lake and its golden beaches, this is your haven for the next three nights.

Spend the afternoon at leisure—swim in the infinity pool, kayak along the shoreline, or simply relax on your private deck with views across Africa’s third-largest lake.

Lake Malawi

Staying at Robin Pope Camps: Pumulani Lodge

Unwind in paradise. Your days here are yours to fill—take a guided nature walk, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, paddle out in a dhow at sunset, or simply laze by the beach.

Pumulani offers barefoot luxury in a peaceful setting, with spacious villas, exceptional food, and warm, attentive service. Evenings are best enjoyed with sundowners on the deck followed by dinner under the stars.

End Of Itinerary
