Megan planned a great progression of experiences for newbies to Zambia.
We have just returned (June 8, 2023) from almost 2 weeks in Zambia, a safari trip planned & prepared for me, my son & my grandson by Megan Worthington with Discover Africa. It was our 1st trip to Africa & was wonderful, exceeding all expectations. We had 5 nights at South Luangwa National Park in 3 Robin Pope Safari camps, each one distinctive & in a separate area of the park & all exceptionally comfortable with delicious, abundant food & drink, perfect service & amazing guides. Konga, our 1st guide, detoured on the way to camp to see a pride of 5 lions at ease & napping. It was the beginning of many thrilling encounters with many animals with Konga, John & Sabastian all of whom had breathtaking knowledge of flora, fauna & history of Zambia. We moved on by air (quirky Proflight & charter) to Jeki airstrip & Lower Zambesi NP. Tapello, who guided us with Lawrence picked us up for our trip to Anabezi, our luxury camp on the Zambezi River for 4 nights. We had met Dennis, the camp manager at the Lusaka airport & had a lovely conversation while waiting for our flight. Unlike the Robin Pope camp managers, all of whom were also guides, Dennis had studied tourism & hospitality, which showed in the very high level of professionalism in all areas of this much larger camp. In addition to the now familiar routine of morning & evening/night drives we also went fishing for tiger fish (caught 2) & for another boat ride that put us at almost eye level with the ubiquitous hippos. Finally, we traveled on to Livingstone & Victoria Falls for 2 nights at the quite lovely & comfortable David Livingstone Lodge on the river. Vic Falls was almost at peak & stunning! Another thrill. Overall, Megan planned a perfect progression of experience for us newbies. I cannot offer enough praise for the guides & staffs, who enthusiastically & graciously shared their beautiful country with us. Old hand travelers told us that the end of the dry season has more sightings, as the animals move to the rivers. We saw plenty of animals & species (only missed the rhinos) & enjoyed the weather & greener landscape.

Diane went above and beyond to put together the perfect honeymoon package!
We wanted a honeymoon that was both action-packed and restful and Diane put together the perfect trip! After a long day of game drives, it was nice to come back to a beautiful and relaxing accommodation for the evening. It was everything we could have dreamed of and more!

Knowledgeable, Professional, Terrific!
Our trip was the trip of a lifetime! Spending two nights in Johannesburg after arrival gave us time to recover from the flight and get ready for our safari. Kapama was terrific! Our guides Jeffrey and Kenneth were knowledgeable, friendly and, truly, the best ever! We were "right there with the animals" as Jeffrey explained the animal's actions and reactions. He took us "off-road" searching for the leopard knowing it was in the vicinity. The staff was superb, the food choices were outstanding and our lodging was wonderful! Xakamapa had excellent tent accommodations and was with a resident hippo adding an exotic touch. The food, staff and safari team were great! Chobe was more of a high-end hotel with terrific amenities. Beautiful grounds and settings and creative, delicious buffets. On our safaris, we saw herds of elephants swimming and protecting the babies. We saw a pride of lions stalking buffalo and many other animals. We enjoyed Victoria Falls but were in the area only overnight. I also visited one of the local villages which was quite an education. These people are poor and work hard. Unemployment is rampant! Most of the workers in these camps work for two months straight and then go "home" for approximately 12 days. The majority of them also have children who are cared for mostly by their grandmothers. These workers (and their families) need these tips from the tourists to survive. I would like to suggest that more people visiting Africa visit these villages and schools for a variety of reasons. We usually make our own travel plans. This was the first time someone else has guided us. Susan was perfect! Everything was timely, safe and well thought out! She answered multiple questions and was a great support! Thank you, Susan! Well Done!

Extremely helpful, responsive and very enjoyable to work with!
Our travel agent Megan was a pleasure to work with. She was very patient with all our questions and concerns; she responded quickly and helped guide us through the entire process, changing our itinerary as often as we requested. She offered us several options and packages to consider in order to accommodate our budget. We had one excursion cancellation at the last minute due to the weather and she responded immediately while we were in Cape Town, acting as mediator so we were able to book an alternate event on our own. The lodges in Victoria Falls and Chobe were beautiful and service was excellent, especially the staff at Ngoma Safari Lodge, we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The scenery, safaris and entire experience were beyond our expectations. It was a dream come true and Megan was great to work with; we felt the price was reasonable for all we received and would highly recommend Discover Africa to anyone considering a trip to Africa.

Professional and well organised team that provided an excellent safari experience for us.
Pre-trip - Diane from Discover Africa was our P.O.C. and she was extremely helpful as well as knowledgeable. Providing us with a lot of useful information since this was our first time engaging a company to help us plan a safari. She was also very prompt in her replies to any emails we sent. Arrival - Was met by a representative upon exiting the plane and was accompanied through immigration (no special treatment just regular immigration procedure). He was there to ensure we met up with our driver. Our driver then brought us (upon request) to get a sim card before sending us to a smaller airport to await our departure to the game reserve. The lounge was comfortable and well-stocked with snacks and drinks. There were ample sitting areas and well-maintained restrooms. Our flight to the game reserve departed approx. 5-6 hours after we touched down in Joburg (this is due to the arrival time of our international flight from Singapore), we took a small 10 seater plane which made 3 stops (ours was the 3rd). Smooth flight with no issues Stay at King's Camp - Met up with a driver from the King's Camp to take us to our accommodations. The rooms were very well done, with a large bed, an indoor and outdoor shower, his and hers sinks, a nice bathtub that was prepped every evening for a nice soak, and a good selection of complimentary alcohol (brandy, vodka, whiskey, gin, beer, etc) in the room. The lodge had friendly staff and very experienced guides/drivers and trackers. We were quite fortunate to see the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, and Cape Buffalo) on our first drive. The remaining 2.5 days at the camp were very relaxing and comfortable with 2 game drives a day. Each game drive had a short tea break out in the bush. Meals were delicious but not too much African cuisine in the selection except for one night when we had a Boma. However, upon request, the Chef was kind enough to prepare some for us on our last night there. Transfer to and stay at Leopard Hills camp - Had a comfortable drive to our next camp. around 2.5 hrs journey with a short bio break at a mall in one of the towns we passed. The driver was very considerate, making sure we were comfortable during the ride. The Leopard Hills accommodation was very nice as well. with a huge balcony overlooking the bush. The amenities were similar to King's camp, but due to the location of the lodge, the restaurant's outdoor seating had a nice view of a watering hole where you could sit and watch animals. Don't expect huge herds though. Game drives and meals were similar to the other lodge. We also had a Boma, and a few more options of game meat for other meals. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely engage Discover Africa again if we intend to explore other safari options

Excellent in all facets
My partner & I just had a brilliant 3 & a half weeks in Southern Africa. Everything was excellent & I highly recommend Discover Africa. From the safaris to the cities to the wine region it was all great. All arrangements including hotels made on our behalf were fabulous! Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta, Cape Town & Franschhoek were all highlights & are definitely worth visiting. I’d also like to note Discover Africa’s professionalism during the 3 years we dealt with them. Yes, 3! Our trip was Covid delayed but throughout this time communications were constant & reassuring. In particular thanks to our consultant Megan Warrington for her great efforts & service!!

Vihann our contact was Outstanding!
Wow, exceptional service from Vihann! Our trip was booked & organised a couple of weeks prior departure, we had 9 days spare to spend in Botswana after Namibia. Emails were sent to half dozen booking companies, some replied with what do you want to do, some said we’ll respond in 24-48hrs but not Vihann he had our itinerary (including our flight out of Namibia) ready to go on first contact. What a relief, all we had to do was enjoy the safaris. Everything went like clockwork, every flight, every detail, 3 lodges of mid-luxury and all 7 flights in & out of Botswana and back to Jo’burg with a lovely night stay in Sandton and delivered back to the airport for our flight home. There’s no way we could have done this ourselves. The detailed itinerary had everything we needed to do and be at what time. We were also met on arrival in Botswana & Joburg which was very reassuring as it was our first time to Africa. The Safari days are amazing and full, which meant the early nights were a blessing, the tour guides are so knowledgeable so kind fun and helpful, we loved the glamping style accom with all the comforts incl repellent, lotions and filtered drinking water…so much delicious food! there were so many special moments it’s too long to list all of them, like the night an elephant was eating/walking past our lodge, hyenas crunching on their meal, a lion calling for his brother right next to our car, or the Hippo who jumped out of the water just as surprised as us in our boat…truly amazing and always felt safe. Thank you Vihann we highly recommend you.

Amazing!
Megan was so easy to deal with every request from us was catered for. I dealt with her from Australia and thought that it may be difficult but this was the furthest from reality - she was amazing- the trip was the best we have ever done, everything was so well planned and organised everything went so smoothly. The lodges were beyond perfect, we will definitely be using Megan again and will definitely be travelling to South Africa again. So highly recommend using Megan.

Unforgettable safari experience in Southern Africa!
Our experience started months before during the planning with the amazing Susan. This was our first time visiting Africa, and she was always very open, communicative and listened to all of our wishes and wants and made us feel like we were in very good hands. We had a set budget for this trip, but wanted to celebrate our 30th birthdays in a memorable way, so Susan made sure to encompass all the highlights within our set budget. We started with 3 nights at Oddball's Camp within the Moremi Game Reserve (On the East side of the Okavango Delta). This was a beautiful experience. The camp is deep in the heart of the Okavango, and only accessible by light aircraft (where you can see beautiful aerial views of the Delta). Oddballs offers no motorized activities, so it is really just you and nature. We had the luxury of being the only guests at the camp at the time, so we had a lot of privacy and attention from the staff. Every day, we had two game walks, which was a beautiful opportunity to explore the game reserve on foot and really be one with nature and animals. Our guide was Raps, who was incredibly knowledgeable and had great eyes for animals even from afar. With Raps as our fantastic guide, we were able to track down a Lion, and see multiple herds of elephants and zebras, buffalos and pods of hippos. And even a leopard! We also had the excitement of seeing Lions during dinner, on 2 out of the 3 nights we were there. [caption id="attachment_200487" align="alignnone" width="840"] Rainbow over Victoria Falls[/caption] On our last full day, that is when I celebrated my 30th birthday, and it was truly magical. Pony (the camp leader) helped organize a private candlelit dinner on the deck and surprised me with traditional dance and songs performed by the entire staff. It was truly unforgettable. And hat's off to Kay and the catering staff, the food was divine! Oddballs have definitely found a special place in my heart, and I will always remember Raps, Pony and Doc dancing while we took off to head over to Chobe. Our time at Chobe was also amazing. This time our safaris were either drives or by boat. We stayed at Chobe Bush Lodge in Kasane, and the whole pick-up and transfer went smoothly. We did not need to wait at all. We had two activities per day and even had our own private boat ride and were able to visit Namibia for a day trip. The staff was incredibly helpful and the food was delicious! Here I will also have to commend Susan's amazing communication skills and proactiveness, as I had forgotten a bag in the previous camp and informed Susan about it, and she was incredible and managed to have my bag brought back to me in less than 24h! The drives in Chobe were completely different every day. We were able to see massive pods of hippos, a pride of 15 lions, wildebeest, crocodiles and an incredible amount of gorgeous birds. Our final stop was in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The hotel was beautiful. Shongwe Lookout. With a lookout tower to view the Zambezi River and the falls' spray. Here we were able to view the falls from all angles! By foot (prepared to get soaked, but such a fun experience), by helicopter (we had a 12 min ride) and by tram during sunrise. (with the Bamba tram) All in all, an INCREDIBLE, UNFORGETTABLE experience and I could not thank Susan & Discover Africa enough. Highly recommend it, and already excited to book the next tour with you!

Great All Inclusive trip!
We had an excellent all-inclusive trip to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park. The two lodges offered great but distinct experiences. Over six days we had multiple game drives. We saw elephants, cape buffaloes, kudus, bushbucks, giraffes, crocs, hippos and impala, among many other animals. We visited the falls twice, including by helicopter. It was worth the cost, due to the quality and uniqueness of the accommodations, food, and available drinks. Staff at both lodges and the guides were always available and flexible to our last-minute changes to itineraries, based on our energy. I recommend buying a multi-entry visa when you arrive in Zimbabwe if you are going to Botswana. I also recommend flying Airlink from Johannesburg, rather than Fast Jet.

Helpful and very friendly!
We were very satisfied with this trip from end to end. We experienced so many awesome things in Namibia. The guy from the rental car agency gave us all the tips required to have a safe trip. We never had any issues regarding the trip except for one night in the desert camp lodge where our booking has not been approved properly. But it was solved very quickly.

An unforgettable experience.
With superb accommodation at the restaurant, quality food, and knowledgeable safari tour guides, I was treated like royalty. Well worth the reasonable cost. I saw so much wildlife and shot hundreds of photos. I will recommend this tour and lodge to family and friends.
