Cape Point, Cape Town, South Africa in 360°

Welcome to Cape Point Also named the ‘Cape of Storms’ by Bartolomeu Dias in 1488. Look to your left. You’ll see the original lighthouse -- built in the 1850s -- and no longer in use. Take a walk up the Funicular footpath. When you reach the top, you’ll see the much newer lighthouse lower down the point -- officially the brightest on the South African coastline. Even with these maritime beacons, this rugged coastline and wild waters have witnessed the demise of over 3000 ships, earning the ‘Cape’ a third nickname: the ‘Graveyard of ships’. Try spot these wrecks on an aerial tour of Cape Point or while walking the Funicular trail. When you’re ready, head to our final stop: Where you’ll be treated to Table Mountain National Park’s most spectacular views.
